Little Accomplishments – August 9th, 2019

What have you accomplished this week?

Hello! I hope you’re having a beautiful day. 🙂 ❤ Today, I am happy to share a new Little Accomplishments post with you! I’ve been adding to this series on and off for over two years, which I think is pretty cool! In the comments, all of you are invited to share what you’ve done (mainly the little things, but big things are fine, too!) over the past week.

Let’s celebrate all of life’s joys – no matter how small!

Little Accomplishments – February 23rd, 2018

Hi there, and Happy Friday to you guys!! ❤ I hope you’re doing well. 🙂 Last night, I decided to start putting together a Little Accomplishments post for today, so as you can see, that’s what I’ll be sharing with you! Compiling one of these from time to time is so enjoyable, because as I’ve stated before, I love celebrating all of life’s joys – no matter how small! (Edit: I just noticed I put ‘January’ in the title instead of ‘February’ – my goodness! That just shows how time flies, haha!)

On a side note, I wanted to quickly mention that today is my parents’ anniversary! ❤ This is a really special date for them, and for our whole family, as well. I couldn’t ask for a better friend than my mom, or a greater supporter than my dad – they both mean so much to me, and are my two biggest role models. I’m extremely thankful for all that they do for us! 🙂

Alright, now I’m ready to talk about today’s post! If you are, too, let’s check out what I’ve gotten done this past week. xx Happy reading!

Little Accomplishments –
February 23rd, 2018

This past week, I …

  • got all of last year’s pictures printed. (I’ve been needing to do this for a while, so you have no idea how much joy this accomplishment brings to me!! Knowing all those pictures will be printed, without the possibility of being lost on our family computer forever [lol], gives me such peace of mind. I’m looking forward to their arrival in the mail so I can sort them into my photo boxes [which you can see below].)

  • cleaned up my whole closet. (Another thing that’s been long in coming – I’m very happy that it’s finished now! I’ll be getting a dresser soon to keep my clothes in, instead of stacking them in my closet, because that hasn’t been working very well. Until then, I’ve created a nice setup, which I’m finally content with!)
  • worked on more blog posts. (Recently, I’ve been going through so much with my family – both good, and the occasional bad – that I didn’t have enough space left in my thoughts to compose a good blog post much of the time. However, this past week, I’ve enjoyed sitting down and coming up with ideas to then eventually write about on my blog. I hope you guys will enjoy them, too!)
  • got my very first camera. (Ahhhh I’m so excited!!! It just arrived in the mail this past Tuesday, and in the days since, I’ve thoroughly been enjoying trying out its many settings and getting familiar with how it works. After extensively browsing on Amazon, I found that the Kodak Pixpro AZ361 was the best choice for me. I have to tell you, the ease of use, fantastic image/video quality, and durability of this camera are an absolute steal at its current price! If you’re in the market for a camera, I’d highly recommend looking into this one. ❤ )

Thank you so much for reading!! I hope that you have an absolutely fantastic weekend. ❤ Before I go, however, I have a quote of the day that I’d like to share with you.

“You matter in God’s eyes.”

I pray that you’ll never forget that beautiful fact!

What have YOU gotten done this past week?

Have a great day!

Little Accomplishments – September 22nd, 2017

What have you accomplished this week?

Welcome to this week’s Little Accomplishments!

Hello there, guys! Happy first day of fall! How have you been? Hope you’re all having a beautiful week. 💜

I have been working on lots of things outside of the blogging world lately, which explains why I haven’t been posting as much as I usually do. Going from posting almost daily to about once a week was a big shift, and also unintentional, as a matter of fact. However, I have been having such a good time doing other activities (including working on upcoming blog posts!) that I haven’t missed it too much, which is awesome, because at times, all I’ve wanted to do is blog, haha! (Many of us know how that feels.)

I have been doing my best to still comment on blogs most days, which has been enjoyable because I love reading what you guys write about. I know that I have missed some posts, and I’m sorry about that – over the next week, you’ll probably see me popping up in your notifications!

This Little Accomplishments was a last-minute post idea last night; I put it all together and had it ready for the morning, so it only includes the accomplishments that stand out to me most from the previous week.

Let’s celebrate all of life’s joys – no matter how small!

Last week, I…

  • started writing in a journal again. (I have been wanting to do this for well over a year, which is why this made me so happy! I went to TJMaxx a few weekends ago and fell in love with the journal I shared in the picture below. It represents me so well, and I’m enjoying recording my thoughts in it.)

  • found new nonfic books to enjoy reading. (Because I have been browsing my local libraries’ selection of books for years, I have pretty well figured out which sections I enjoy the most, and have fun returning to those kinds of books from time to time … however, I have found recently that different self-help books [specifically on perfectionism, psychology, happiness, and inspiration], which is a category I’ve never browsed before, has turned out to be quite a joy to read! I’m planning on sharing my reviews of some of these books in the near future. Pictured below are a few that I found at the library recently and can’t wait to delve into!)

  • began watching more ASMR videos. (Starting in 2013, I loved watching ASMR [relaxing] videos, but in the years since then, my interest in viewing them has diminished, then peaked, then fallen back down again, in a very uneven pattern. lol However, I now have three different people that regularly upload new videos, and they make me so happy to watch, so that has been what I do most evenings recently! If you guys are interested in watching some of these relaxing videos, I highly recommend GentleWhispering, Tingting ASMR, and Scottish Murmurs ASMR. xx )
  • fell in love [again] with Rend Collective’s music. (The music I listen to on a regular basis is always changing, and for some reason, I stopped listening to this awesome Irish Christian band’s music for a while. When I added their album to my account on Amazon Music a few weeks ago, they’ve been on repeat ever since. More Than Conquerors is one of my all-time favorite songs, and my newest favorite of theirs is Boldly I Approach! My phone’s current lockscreen is proof of my rekindled love for Rend Collective’s music, as the words on it are from their song Burn Like A Star! I made the lockscreen myself, by the way.)

Hello, September! | Positivity and Reflection

Hello, September! | Positivity and Reflection

Hey everyone! How is your day going? I pray that your September has gotten off to a beautiful start!

It feels like only yesterday that I posted last month’s welcome post. August definitely flew by faster for me than July did! These past 31 days, I busied myself with my first five weeks of my senior year, went on a few weekend trips with my family, and did lots of other miscellaneous things (especially piano!) which I mentioned in different Little Accomplishments posts. I really enjoyed August (as you could see from yesterday’s post), and I hope that September is as enjoyable, too!

Related Post: Hello, August! | Goals and Dreams

How was your August? And do you have anything fun planned for September? Definitely let me know in the comments below!

For this post, I’m going to list what I got done in the blogging world recently and list what I hope to do in September. Let’s jump right into this!

Blogging Accomplishments

This past month, I …

  • regularly commented on the blogs I follow.
  • explored the Reader and met new bloggers.
  • experimented with new types of posts.
  • created a more flexible posting schedule for myself.
  • posted when I felt motivated and inspired, not because I wrote it in my planner.
  • got 100 likes on a single post for the first time!
  • wrote some award posts.
  • interviewed more bloggers.
  • held my first blog party!
  • kept up with my usual behind-the-scenes work.

Focuses for September

  • Work On Stories. Right now, I’m working on two: the Mayan historical fiction novel, and a YA realistic fiction story I’ve been attempting to write for years. I’m going to further develop characters and plot for the YA story, and write out a basic structure for where I want the story to go with the Mayan novel. I’m so stoked for this! If you’d like, you can follow along on my writing journey on Pinterest, where I store lots of ideas and inspiration.
  • Rise Early. Throughout August, I started each day earlier than I have been for a long time, especially so that I can read my Bible while I drink my iced coffee. I love doing this and would love to do so most, if not all,
  • Play The Piano. I would love to learn a few more songs, and memorize the minor chords, too! Putting my major chord and scale knowledge to use would be pretty cool.
  • Blog Comfortably. For a while, I have stuck to a pretty fixed weekly posting schedule. It worked for me for months, and many other bloggers thrive with using one, too! But I’ve realized recently that I was forcing myself to do a post I really didn’t want to do just to keep to schedule. To fix this problem, I’m going to write posts on new topics, make new recipes and share them as I find them, and most importantly, write as I’m inspired.
  • Accomplish Things On School Break. My family and I are taking the first week of September off from school for Labor Day weekend, and also so that we can all celebrate Samuel’s birthday together!
  • Do Some Photoshoots. I’d love to start doing these with my little siblings again! I did multiple photography shoots last fall, but in the warmer months, I don’t like being outside (which is where I do photoshoots, because #naturallightingrocks) either because of the humidity or pollen. We’ll see how this venture goes! I might have to wait until October.
  • Go Through Pictures. This will take a while as I’ve been putting it off for about two months now. I have 1000+ to go through and sort!

Thank you so much for reading! I’m excited to see what September has to offer.

What are YOU up to this September?

Blogging Challenge – Day 17: Goals For My Blog

Blogging Challenge – Day 17: Goals For My Blog

Hey guys! Today’s prompt is all about blogging goals, so that’s what I’ll be writing about today. I’m happy that this is one of the prompts because, 1) all of you get the chance to learn about what I aspire to be as a blogger, and 2) I’ll know what I aspire to be as a blogger. Haha! That’s the funny thing; I’ve never made a specific list of any blogging goals I might have – until now. Up until this point, I haven’t had anything really specific in mind goal-wise, except for two things: to grow my audience, and to write quality content.

It really blesses me to meet so many of the beautiful, amazing, awesome bloggers out there because, if I’m honest, I don’t have very many people in my day-to-day life to talk to; it’s just me and my family. That’s why all of my blogging friends mean the world to me! I never take any of your friendships for granted. And getting to have a blog where I can write about the things that make me joyful in life, and then getting to share then with all of you, as well, is an even further blessing! ❤

So, for today’s topic, I’ve broken up my happy little goals into two different lists. The first is for my “now goals,” aka ones that I either want to or will accomplish within the next month or two, and the second list is for “later goals,” which are either milestones I can only dream of, or they’ll just happen at some point, not any time soon, haha.

Side note: It is not my desire to boast about my blog stats and make anyone feel inferior. The only reason I’m talking about them today is to answer the prompt 🙂 All bloggers are awesome, no matter what your stats look like! ☺️💓

You can read about what this challenge is here. And make sure to check out Cheila’s and Angela’s posts for today, too – we’re all doing the challenge together!

Goals For My Blog

Now Goals

  • reach 400 followers.
  • get to 3,000 all-time comments.
  • reach 10,000 all-time blog views.
  • finish up with the blogging challenge and get back to regularly scheduled posting (haha).
  • get my drafts in order.
  • do a better job of planning upcoming posts.
  • check out all of the new posts in my Reader daily.
  • find a few new blogs a day to read and comment on daily or every other day.
  • write more posts on blogging tips, my blogging experience, etc.
  • interview a total of 10 different bloggers.
  • write more posts on earth-friendly topics.
  • share a total of 15 different treats that I’ve tried, with pictures and the recipe.
  • share some short stories and/or chapters of stories that I’ve written.

Later Goals

  • reach 1,000 followers.
  • get to 10,000 all-time comments.
  • host a few giveaways.
  • use more of my own photos for posts instead of stock photos. (but they’re beautiful, aren’t they?)
  • bake a total of 25 tasty treats (I’m at 13 currently) and blog about them.
  • find a way to get the Pinterest button to show up on my blog’s photos.
  • interview 25 different bloggers.
  • reach my blogiversary and still be posting content regularly!

Wow, I didn’t know I’d come up with that thorough of a list! Haha! And actually, that’s two thorough lists. lol This prompt really helped me to get my blogging goals in order. How about you?

What are YOUR top three blogging goals?

Happy Wednesday!

Little Accomplishments – February 24th, 2017

What have you accomplished this week?

Yesterday, I had an awesome idea for a post that I could do weekly (ever Friday), and this is the first one of the series.

I’m calling them Little Accomplishments!

Each post will contain a short list of the things that I completed in the past seven days, things that I’ve been needing to do (for however long) and am happy that I finally did them. In the comments, all of you are invited to share what you’ve done (mainly the little things, but big things are fine, too!) over the past week.

Let’s celebrate all of life’s joys – no matter how small!

This past week, I…

  • re-memorized recently learned Spanish words on Memrise. (I had been needing to do it for weeks!)
  • finished reading Waiting on God. (And I’m so glad that I did! It encouraged me greatly.)
  • went through miscellaneous papers. (Yawn. But it needed to be done!)
  • tidied my closet. (I don’t know why I kept putting this one off.)
  • wrote a blog outline. (Quite possibly one of the best things I’ve ever done.)
  • made a blogging schedule. (Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays!)

Comment what YOU’VE done this week down below – last Saturday through today!
