My Top 10 Favorite Morgan Harper Nichols Quotes

Hi there! I hope you’re having a beautiful day. 💕 For the last several years, I have enjoyed using Pinterest to find inspirational quotes. On that trek to find motivation and encouragement (even though I also consider Pinterest-browsing to be a lazy activity 😂👌🏼), I have found a lot of favorite quotes! However, there has been one quote-writer in particular that has stood out to me the most, and her name is Morgan Harper Nichols.

Hey there! I hope you’re having a beautiful day. ❤ Thank you so much to all of you for wishing me a happy birthday yesterday! I had an absolutely amazing day – everything that I got to do with my family could not have gone better. 🙂 I’m so thankful!

On this lovely morning, I wanted to finally write a post sharing a compilation of my current favorite quotes. ❤ I’ve been meaning to these past few weeks, but other posts took its place! I adore writing these from time to time because I’m always being inspired by what I see on Pinterest’s motivational side (you can go follow me here!), which is evident by the other three posts I’ve written in this series.

My Top 7 Favorite Quotes

“Life becomes more beautiful when we stop anticipating the worst.” – Matt Hattersley

cannot tell you how good it is for me to be reminded of truths like this! I am always quick to worry that circumstances and situations will go as poorly as possible, which is awful because then I’m living in fear in even the most exciting of times. Taking a moment to remember how things have gone well in the past is a practice I don’t often keep up with, even though I would so appreciate it!

Most of the people who died yesterday had plans for today.
Don’t take life for granted.

This one is a bit deep, but goodness, it has me absolutely floored. It’s one of those quotes that easily gets me thinking deeply, along with quotes like one of my favorites: “If the words you said were tattooed on your skin, would you still say them?” We are living this life with purpose … may we never fall into the mentality that we are left to wander this earth alone. Please, keep it intently on your mind just how precious life is!

Remember what it feels like to be excluded so that you can help build a community where everyone is included.

It is well known that we can only truly empathize with others when we have first gone through what they’re facing. With this in mind, I am encouraged to remember the times when groups of people were unwilling to accept me – just how lonely and forgotten it feels to be in the presence of others who don’t wish to give you the time of day. The next time I’m around someone who has no one else to turn to or talk to, I want to be there for them – may I be the reason they can smile that day. ❤

Very little is needed
to make a happy life.

I have seen the beauty and truth of this through two things. First, through observing how having more than enough makes me feel, and two, being open to how my minimalist-minded mother views life. Surrounding myself with things that make me happy, without the number of possessions being overwhelming, is truly an art. I see complete value in experiencing life over owning things, in appreciating things I can afford without feeling a total attachment to them for extended amounts of time. I’m still experimenting with how I wish to live and spend my money, and I’m enjoying the process.

Your mistakes do not define you.

While other quotes have got me thinking more than this one, it is quite possibly the one I need to read the most. When I misstep and lose my way, I am well known for judging myself on my way back to the right way to live. I cannot improve and live the way I desire to with self-condemnation. This is why the Lord is helping me immensely to leave this trait behind.

Be the change you want to see.

I can easily begin judging others for doing wrong instead of focusing on improving my own behavior! It’s not good to live a life that condemns other people – even when it’s easy, it doesn’t feel right to look down on others in that way when we have our own issues. Where you can step in and do right, regardless of what others are choosing to do, is where we can thrive.

Do all things
with purpose.

It is so easy to fall into the habit of going through the motions. However, what if we were to live with the intention of doing all things with great love – with purpose? I know that our view of life would become so much more beautiful! Knowing we’re making a difference in the lives of our family and friends is absolutely wonderful. ❤

Thank you so much for reading! I had fun getting to share these quotes with you. I hope you have a blessed Wednesday!

Be Strong

Be Strong

Hi there, guys! I hope you’re having a beautiful Sunday. 🙂 ❤ The post I’m sharing with you today is being posted a bit later than I usually do, and that’s because I was busy doing things with my family until now. (We got something I’m really excited about, which I’ll be sharing on a post sometime this upcoming week!) It has been on my heart to share a Bible verse I read last night with you today, just like I did last week with a verse I loved from the book of John. ❤

Are you ready? Let’s check it out! I’m praying it encourages you as much as it has encouraged me. 🙂

Joshua 1:9

“Have not I commanded you?
Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous.
Be not afraid, neither be dismayed,
for the Lord your God is with you
wherever you go.”

This is a verse that many of us are familiar with, but it is also personally one that I have frequently overlooked. Have you ever heard a quote or Bible verse so much that it eventually loses its meaning for you? I think that’s what has happened to me with Joshua 1:9. It’s one of those verses that I’ve loved for a long time, and I’m only now remembering just how much I adore it.

In this chapter of Joshua, the Lord is speaking directly to Joshua … but I’ve found that He speaks to many of His children through this promise – including myself.

There are few things more encouraging to know than the fact that the Lord our God is with us! ❤

He will never leave us nor forsake us. He is calling us to be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. Who can be our foe, if God is on our side (Romans 8:31)? He promises that when we’re walking with Him, we shall never have to fear that He isn’t with us, for He will always be by our side. ❤

Thank you so much for reading! I know this post was quite short – I was just wanting to share a bit of an inspirational Sunday post with you. 🙂

Happy Sunday!

Quotes That Inspire Me, Pt. 3

Quotes That Inspire Me, Pt. 3

Hey guys ❤ I hope that your new week has gotten off to a beautiful start! This is day three of my mom and Isabella’s stay at the hospital, and I am truly praying they’ll be able to come home today.

This past weekend was the craziest one we’ve had in a while, haha, and I understand why – there’s been SO much going on! As a whole, we’ve been working together and coordinating who should visit them and when (yesterday, it only worked for our dad to go), but there have definitely been our fair share of hectic moments, too. I’m asking the Lord to help us maintain peace, which can be hard in different situations that have occurred. However, I know that He is with us, and that He is delivering us through all this. ❤ ❤

Health Update: My dad is leaving the house right now to go be with my mom and Isabella. My mom needs a blood patch, so my dad needs to be there to stay with Isabella while she has that done. All prayers would be greatly appreciated!

In the spirit of Motivational Mondays, I’ve been browsing Pinterest for inspiration lately, and I found some really great quotes. They’ve been helpful to read when things get stressful, and I’d love to share them with you!

If you need a bit of inspiration like I do for this week (I’m sure we all do!), check out the ten quotes I’ve compiled below. ❤

Quotes That Inspire Me, Pt. 3

It is well.

These three, simple words put together do a beautiful job of reminding me that things will get better. The Lord is still here. Even when I get lost in the moment, things soon become normal once again. It is well with my soul.

“Keep your face always toward the sunshine and shadows will fall behind you.” – Walt Whitman

I love this optimistic quote!! Choosing to look on the bright side of things means that our stress-filled thoughts will begin to diminish – and fall behind us. Seeing and believing that things really will get better is the only way we will begin to heal.

Surround yourself with people who see your value and remind you of it.

There are few things more encouraging to me than when I get to talk to and be around my family who loves me. Having their encouragement and inspiration is one of of the only ways I’m able to leave stressful times behind. Talking things through and having their support, as well as knowing they still care for me even when I’m struggling to love myself, is an important aspect of my life I don’t ever desire to take for granted. ❤ Choose your company wisely.

The best is yet to come.

Good things are on their way! Life can be deceptive sometimes, in that it looks like things, people, and situations are at a fixed state of being, but things never end there. Things will get better.

Live more, worry less.

I absolutely love this one! Worrying can feel so productive sometimes, because we’re usually thinking of ways the situation will happen and how we will deal with it when it comes. Well, what if we were to live in the moment instead, and expect the best, then just deal with things as they come? Mentally preparing and ruining the present moment is not worth it in the end. This leads me to my next quote …

Nothing ever happens the way you imagine it will.

Back in 2016 when my little sister Elizabeth was born, as well as this past Friday when Isabella was born, their birth stories did not in any way go the way I projected them to. The more I live through experiences like this, the more I realize that I’m never able to fathom what my future will consist of! Leaving everything in the Lord’s hands really is an essential 🙂 Things end up being better, a bit worse, or sometimes simply different than we think they will go … but in the end, I can always see Him at work. Trusting Him and having faith is so important.

Faith it ’till you make it – then spread the faith.

Going through tough situations is hard in the moment, I am well aware of this. But what happens when we’re able to see what the Lord brought us through? We’re able to tell others about how we know He helped us! That is an extremely important testimony in the lives of all Christians.

God has a great plan for your life. Trust Him.

This is something I believe with my whole heart … but it’s also something I appreciate being reminded of time and time again. ❤

Happy are they who take life day by day, complain very little, and are thankful for the little things in life.

I would love to fit this description, haha! While I know that I try to most days, I want to put those three things into practice every day, and not get so worked up about small problems. I make them worse when I don’t respond right. I know that the Lord is helping me with this, and I am continually giving it to Him.

Be patient. Be gentle. Be humble. Be loving. – from Ephesians 4:2,3

These are things that all of us can work on! Cultivating these qualities is one of the things I am working on and praying over at this time in my life. ❤

Thank you sooo much for reading! I hope that you’re all doing well. Thank you for all of the comments you shared yesterday ❤ I appreciate your prayers and support! Let me know in the comments below:

Just like last time, I have handpicked five that I’d like to share with you. Let’s get right into this!

My Top 5 Current Favorite Quotes

A Sunday well spent brings a week of content.

For many, this day is at the very end of each week, but on most modern calendars (I’m still not sure why, haha), Sunday starts off each new set of seven days. I know for me personally, I have a hard time with Sundays, because it’s the last bit of my weekend. While my weekdays could be considered by none as stressful or negative when juxtaposed to the joyful end of the week, it still makes me sad that my break from school is drawing to a close. I would think that this is normal for most people, but I desire to look at Sundays differently. It should be a day spent enjoying being with my family, as well as reflecting on the week before and looking ahead to the week soon to follow. Dreading the future, no matter how boring the following days may turn out to be (lol), ruins what could be a positive mindset.

Stay close to anything that makes you glad to be alive.

Many of my current hobbies and interests, from blogging, to playing the piano, to writing stories, make me extremely happy to be alive. At this moment in my life, they bring me great joy, but that doesn’t mean that they always will. However, I want to focus on spending my time doing things that I truly enjoy, and slowly getting rid of anything else.

The Lord isn’t slow about keeping His promises.

This quote was derived from 2 Peter 3:9, and I absolutely love it! It’s something so important for me (and all of us!) to remember, and this quote is a beautiful way of putting it.

Sometimes, I need to focus on the battle God wants to win in me more than the battle I want Him to win for me.

This one completely stopped me in my tracks. I have read hundreds thousands of inspirational quotes, but there are just some that have deeper meaning for me than all the rest. The above quote^ is one such example. I’ve never thought about exhibiting such surrender before, but I absolutely want to now. It’s hard to focus on what He desires when we’re so desperately chasing after whatever we’re focused on. This really gave me something to think about.

Somebody, somewhere is depending on you to do what God has called you to do.

This is another mind-blowing quote for me. I could just picture myself helping the people the Lord has called me to serve … it’s a beautiful thought. ❤

Quotes That Inspire Me, Pt. 1

Quotes That Inspire Me, Pt. 1

Hi there, everyone! ❤ I hope that you’re doing well. 🙂 Today, I will be talking about some of my recent favorite quotes!! Because I’m always browsing Pinterest for inspirational quotes, I have acquired a lot of favorites over the years! For this post, I have chosen five that are very relevant for my life right now, and I’ll also talk a little about why I love them so much. Let’s jump right into this!

My Top 5 Current Favorite Quotes

Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.

Throughout September and into October, as well, I have been working really hard on changing different negative behaviors that have become too prevalent in my life. From impatient responses to judging others, there are different ways I feel and act about things and circumstances without realizing how it’s impacting my life. If I can get myself into the habit of thinking before I respond, then I won’t make as many bad mistakes as I do now. Tracking my progress, both the highs and lows, really helps me to keep going, which is why I bring it up on my blog from time to time. 🙂 I’m thinking about doing my Making the Change posts again, but I’m not sure yet. I probably will!

Let life surprise you.

Are you like me, in that you want things to go according to plan, and when things change, whether for better or worse, it really messes you up? I struggle with this all the time. It could be about my school work, or the blogging plan I made for myself. If something gets changed, or added or moved, I get really disoriented and oftentimes upset about it. The reason this quote speaks to me is because I want to do a better job of letting life surprise me! Most things don’t go exactly according to plan. I desire to accept the little changes 🙂

Be nice first.

If I can get into a better habit of taking the plunge and being nice to people I meet first – whether I say hi to the person behind me in line, or I compliment the waitress’ hair – I could really beat my social anxiety in leaps and bounds! It’s definitely something to work on, and quotes like the one above really help me to stay motivated!

If it costs you your peace, it’s too expensive.

I always find myself getting in over my head about all sorts of things. I keep my room too tidy. I keep my blog schedule too tight. I spend too much time organizing pictures. I become over-dedicated to all sorts of things, to the point where I don’t even like the thing I was dedicated to anymore, haha! It’s a sad existence. So, the moral of the story is, yes, I would love to have a clean room, and a blogging schedule and organized folders of pictures, but they tend to cost me my peace. By working on a bit at a time, and finding joy in the length of time it takes me to become inspired, or feel well enough to clean up, etc, is what I need to work on.

His will. His way. My faith.

This is a quote that someone based off of Jeremiah 29:11, which is an absolutely beautiful and comforting verse, and I love this quote, too! I am happiest in life when I’m trusting in His will and following His plans for my life. Whenever I try to step aside from the path He has ordained for me, I am always disappointed. It’s not like something bad happens to me if I make a bad choice, or something; the Lord isn’t like that. I just end up feeling down, almost like I can just see that He had something greater planned for me, but I chose to go somewhere else. After an experience like that, I’m always more than ready to return to following Him again! ❤

So, those are my favorite quotes! I had so much fun finding those five and talking about them. Let me know in the comments below:
