Little Accomplishments – July 28th, 2017

What have you accomplished this week?

Hello everyone – how are you all on this fine Friday? Welcome to this week’s Little Accomplishments!

You know what I just realized? It has been a full month since I did one of these posts!! 😱 What?! That’s crazyyy 😂 I figured five weeks was enough time away from this enjoyable Friday series, so I’m back for another one today.

((Quick Life Update: It turns out that my cold is actually strep throat, a sickness I get quite often. I feel soooo bad today 😭 I can’t talk, can barely eat … Please keep me in your prayers, guys!!))

As you guys can probably guess, I got lots of things done on my blogging break, but I’ll go more into detail on what those things were on the post I’ll be doing on the first of August. For my Little Accomplishments, I’ll just mention what I achieved here recently.

Let’s celebrate all of life’s joys – no matter how small!

Here recently, I…

  • completed a few different coloring pages. (I absolutely love how they turned out!!)

  • updated my blog’s sidebar. (Wanna take a look? Haha it has been forever since I added any new widgets, and the ones I decided on are pretty cool.)
  • finished reading three books. (A book on Guatemala, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and a lovely novel called The Island of Heavenly Daze! The last title I mentioned is the first book in a series of five, so I’m super excited to check out the rest of those!)

  • cleaned up my room. (I dusted, organized … normal stuff! I do it every once in a while)
  • learned some of the major piano chords. (My piano learning progress is going slower than I’d like, but oh well. Such is life! I’m taking it a day at a time and learning as I feel inspired.)

I hope that you all had a fantastic week, everyone, and that this upcoming week will be amazing, too!

Little Accomplishments – June 23rd, 2017

What have you accomplished this week?

Welcome back to this week’s Little Accomplishments, everybody!

I’m going to start by saying, how is it Friday again??!! I’m pretty sure I just hit “publish” on last week’s Friday post, LOL! I have no idea if time is flying like this for anyone else, but I am truly in shock. I mean, what?!

Alright. I won’t continue to ramble on in this scattered manner. Although I’m tempted to, haha

I hope that you all had a great week! As you know, mine sped by, but some great and definitely unexpected things happened over the course of these past seven days, and I’m thankful for each one of them. Some of them I have shared below, but others I’m keeping private for personal reasons. Without further ado, let’s get into this.

Let’s celebrate all of life’s joys – no matter how small!

This past week, I…

  • started learning the piano keyboard. (Last Sunday, my mom was considering donating our piano keyboard, which we’ve had for years but I’ve never had an interest in. Suddenly, I got the notion in my head to see if it and the stand fit in my room – specifically in the corner where I’ve been keeping my electric guitar [which I still can’t play], and to my delight, it did. Since that day, I’ve been watching videos on YouTube and familiarizing myself with the keys, notes, major chords, scales, and other tips and tricks that I come across to help me learn. The quickness of this decision, and how much I’m suddenly loving it, truly appears to be inspired by the Lord. So I’m going along with it and enjoying every step of the way. I think I’ve already fallen in love with it. ❤ If you play the piano, let me know in the comments below! I’d love to chat with you.)

  • organized my closet. (It’s difficult for me to find a way to make everything in there work together organization-wise, as it’s so narrow, but I have it set up pretty nicely for now! I’m always finding ways to improve it haha)
  • started a new coloring page. (This one is a neat, intricate butterfly that I colored using lots of different colors instead of similar tones like I usually do! I can’t decide if I should leave it as is, or add more color. I think I’ll figure that out this upcoming week.)

  • began learning Spanish 5 on Memrise. (The first part of the course is all about sports lingo – specifically, futbol. That means that I’m learning how to say ‘that’s a foul!’ and ‘he’s the best player of the year’ and things like that, lol. I might need to discuss sports stuff like this in Spanish at some point in my life hahaha, but definitely no time soon!)
  • finally started reading Head in the Clouds. (I’ve been eyeing this novel on Goodreads for a while now – it’s been on my ‘to read’ shelf for so long – and I finally got it from the library when I accidentally found it last week, haha! I will definitely be reviewing it sometime soon because I’m only on the second chapter and I already love it so much.)

{Bonus Segment: Little Future Accomplishments}

Oooh! How exciting! Am I right?! I’ve never shared a to-do list on here before 😀 These posts are always about things I’ve done, haha, but I have some different things I’m wanting to get done this upcoming week, so I thought it’d be a good idea to hold myself accountable, lol. Let’s see how many I can check off next Friday.

  • learn the major piano scales.
  • further acquaint myself with piano lingo (what terms are used and when).
  • finish reading Head in the Clouds (can I do it in a week? I think I can!).
  • paint a new watercolor painting.

I’m sure I’ll have more to share next week, but these are the four biggest things! (And honestly, the third one is a stretch. We’ll see about that one.)

Happy Friday, everyone! ❤ xxx

Little Accomplishments – June 16th, 2017

What have you accomplished this week?

Welcome back to this week’s Little Accomplishments!

Hellooo guys! Man, this week was so productive for me, it was a bit overwhelming haha! I looove getting things done, don’t get me wrong, there was just so much productivity happening this week that it was a bit much lol 😱

I’m debating over whether to pick the best ones to share, or to just dump all of them into this post. I’m not sure. We’ll see! Update: I’m doing all of them.

I hope that all of you had an absolutely beautiful week! And hey, if it wasn’t the best, there’s a shiny, brand new week up ahead for all of us. The weekend is here (what, what!!), which is the best way to start these next seven days. xxx Make sure to comment down below what you’ve been up to this week. 🙂 Enjoy!

Let’s celebrate all of life’s joys – no matter how small!

This past week, I…

  • got all the photos and videos off my phone. (YAY!!!! This is actually a gigantic accomplishment for me because I’ve been attempting to do this for weeks, and finally [upon my mom’s urging to try again – thank you, thank you, thank you!!], my mom’s laptop registered that my phone was plugged in and let me transfer everything. I can’t express how happy and relieved this makes me feel.)
  • finished the Spanish 4 course on Memrise. (Woohoo! This isn’t quite as big of an accomplishment as finishing Spanish 3 a few weeks ago, as that course had over 600 words/phrases to learn, and Spanish 4 had about 150, but hey, I was still pretty excited to see the little badge that pops up upon course completion!)

  • caught up on all classic reviews for Spanish on Memrise. (This always takes me a while, as even taking a couple days off from language learning gets me so behind on review, but that makes me even more excited when I see what I took a screenshot of below! Four completed courses, with no words to review on any of them. 😀 )

  • took multivitamins for one full, consecutive week. (This is one of those accomplishments that’s boring, but soooo necessary!! The multivitamin and vitamin C I take are both chewable, and I can’t stand how they taste, so most days for a long while, I’d “forget.” But now I’m back to taking them 😀 )
  • planned everything out so that I can have a laid-back week of blogging. (It won’t look like much of a difference to the readers, but for me, it is a much-needed break. The May blogging challenge I did was an epic whirlwind of creative blog post writing, but whew! It took a toll on me – and I know that it was challenging for Cheila and Angela, too – my lovely fellow challenge buddies. So, over the next week or so [possibly longer], I’ll be publishing you guys’ summer stories every other day until I don’t have anymore. I am taking a break from interviews, recipes, and Sunday inspirations. For right now, I’m focusing on just getting Little Accomplishments posts, as well as the summer memories, ready to post, and just working on behind-the-scenes stuff for now. ❤ )
  • updated my About page and sidebar picture. (How do you guys like it?? I looove the new About page! Click here to check it out. ❤ )

Little Accomplishments – June 9th, 2017

What have you accomplished this week?

Welcome back to this week’s Little Accomplishments!

How is your Friday going so far? I hope that you’re having an awesome day! ❤

Fun fact: I kept up with a little note on my phone all week, keeping track of what I accomplished/nearly accomplished these past seven days, but I am finally, just now, making this post – on Thursday afternoon. I really have no idea why I do this. Maybe because the weeks fly by SO fast and I barely get finished publishing one Little Acomplishments before needing to put together another one??!! Anyway, you will be happy to know (at least I am) that I already have next week’s post started. It’s in my drafts. I will be adding to it. Blog planning is harder than one would think.

Remember to send me an email of your favorite summer memories! Visit this post for details. I’ll only be accepting entries for a couple more days. xx

To sum up the whole of what I did this past week: I cleaned out my room, baked some more treats, and read a book or two. Let’s get into this.

Let’s celebrate all of life’s joys – no matter how small!

This past week, I…

  • finished reading Fantastic Beasts. (It was a short read – only about 40 pages, or so – and I absolutely loved it! Reading all about all the creatures Newt has studied was so great. I’m thinking about maybe writing short stories based off of the descriptions of some of those beasts … what do you think? I’d enjoy that!)
  • went through miscellaneous papers. (I unintentionally collect paper, all the time – I think that’s something we all do! Every once in a while, I go through my stash, and this was one of those weeks. I also organized them and put them away where they all belong.)
  • reorganized the top of my desk and went through the drawers. (Many of you saw the new setup of my desk [if not, or if you’d like to see it again haha, click here!], but I didn’t do a tour of the drawers. At the time, there wasn’t much to see, but I decided to go ahead today and show you what they look like inside right now. Enjoy!)

drawer one – stickers, markers, a few coloring books, to-do list notebook, mini easel (for my phone), tape dispenser.
drawer two – miscellaneous papers, guitar tuner, signed music CD, a few empty folders
drawer three – scrap paper, homemade flashcards, pictures to go through and sort

  • baked a vanilla cake. (I featured this in yesterday’s post! It was sooo good and I’m so very sad that it’s already gone.)

  • made another new treat. (This one is a surprise for the next time I post a dessert!)
  • dusted my bookshelf and bedside shelves. (I’m always dusting or cleaning up something, and these two pieces of furniture were this week’s victims hahaha)
  • flossed for two weeks straight. (I don’t like flossing. It hurts my gums. I do it less than I should because of this. 😂 But every time I go to the dentist [I had an appointment a few weeks ago], I am always motivated to start being consistent with it again. I’ve flossed every night for the last two weeks! Woohoo! [sorry, no picture LOL])
  • colored a few more chemical compounds. (These two – acetic acid and caffeine – were a fun challenge because I kept having to figure out which atom was which! Haha! And the colors turned out so pretty(: I’m planning on coloring another page from the adult coloring book I got, but I haven’t gotten around to that yet.)

  • made banana nut bread. (Lee over at Golden Pink Journal inspired me to do this after she mentioned eating some in one of her posts, haha!! I forgot to take any pictures because my family and I ate it so quick! #whydoidothat #neveragain)
  • retrieved lots of pictures out of my email and put them safely on the computer. (Woohoo! This is just the beginning of getting all the pictures off my phone and on to the USB drive where they should be. There are still 600+ photos in my camera roll, though. *sighs* Oh, well! Pictures are important to me, so I don’t mind:) )

Little Accomplishments – May 26th, 2017

What have you accomplished this week?

Welcome back to this week’s Little Accomplishments!

My baby sister, Elizabeth, turns eleven months old today!! She is the sweetest little girl ever – I love her soooo much, and I can’t believe she’ll be a year old just a month from now! You’re growing up so fast ❤

This past week, I got some different, miscellaneous things done! Not as much as past weeks, but I still enjoyed myself, lol.

Let’s celebrate all of life’s joys – no matter how small!

This past week, I…

  • revived my Twitter account. (I hadn’t tweeted since September, but I’m back to being on there again … at least for now! Add me if you like 🙂 @lovelywriter16

  • reorganized my bookshelf. (I had it set up the same way for a couple months, but I looove how it looks now!)

  • went through all the pictures on my phone. (I emailed some of them to myself, but the rest are still in my camera roll, lol. Now to transfer all of them to the computer where they belong!)
  • got a podcast app (Podly) and found some cool podcasts. (I subscribed to a few that my friend, Pamela, recommended, but I also found a few that look really cool – including Master of Memory! We’ll see how I like them 🙂 )
this is a really cool one I’m interested in listening to!
  • found a new music artist that I love. (Jordan Feliz has a beautiful voice and his songs are so meaningful. ❤ Beloved, Best Of Me, and The River are on repeat!)
  • finished reading Death on the Nile. (Once again, I must admit that Agatha Christie is a brilliant novelist. This novel was SO good!)

Little Accomplishments – May 19th, 2017

What have you accomplished this week?

Hello everyone! Welcome back to this week’s Little Accomplishments!

I’m sorry about my absence last week with this series; I wanted to post a Little Accomplishments last Friday, but going from writing four to five posts a week to suddenly posting twice a day (for the blogging challenge) was a shock to my system. Haha! So instead of doing this type of post, I ended up talking about something else.

Part of me has loved putting up all of those extra posts – getting to write about a huge variety of topics has been awesome! – but it has also worn me OUT. For real. If I ever do a month-long challenge again, I’m going to plan it out waaaay better!

So, this past week, I got a lot accomplished in the areas of schoolwork, Spanish learning, and blogging. Finishing 11th grade has been quite enjoyable, actually – I love all of the subjects! – and I’ve been putting my all into blogging – almost too much, really. Blog post writing has been sucking my evenings away lately, haha. But I’m not going to let that bring me down! Here’s to better blog post planning this upcoming week. 🙂

(I am including a few accomplishments from the week before last, as well, since I didn’t get to share them last Friday.)

Let’s celebrate all of life’s joys – no matter how small!

These past two weeks, I…

  • completed Spanish 3 on Memrise. (WOOHOO!!! I had been wanting to complete this for quite a while, so this is my favorite accomplishment of the week!)

  • planned an awesome week-long series to share with all of you this summer. (I’ll be sharing more about it in the weeks to come!)
  • worked on accomplishing everything on Tuesday’s to-do list. (I’m memorizing the multiples of twelve, I memorized “first, second, third, etc” in Spanish already [woohoo!], worked on the summer series some more, slowly worked on getting all the pictures off my phone [it’s slow goin’], kept reading Death on the Nile, aaaand planned the next week of prompts.)
  • colored three different chemical compound coloring pages. (Yes, I am quite the nerd! But aren’t they pretty? I’m also currently working on coloring ammonia. haha)

  • made a missions board on Pinterest. (I’ve pinned quotes, pictures of sweet Guatemalan children, and anything else I like that relates to missions. I’d been meaning to make this board for a while, lol, but I’ve just now done it 🙂 )

  • published 100 posts on my blog. (I actually accomplished that this one a bit more than a week ago lol, but it’s still worth bringing up!)

  • wrote a Fantastic Beasts fanfiction – two, actually. (That’s a fancy word for a short story, for those of you who were wondering, haha! I don’t know if anyone would be interested in reading them, but I do know that I enjoyed writing them, and that’s what really matters. 🙂 )
  • colored a beautiful coloring page using cool colors. (It was my first time coloring with this color combination, and I love how it turned out. ❤ )

  • watched Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. (It was actually quite disappointing, as I don’t like very dark movies, but Newt’s character, as well as Kowalski’s, were (are!) phenomenal. I will watch the movie again just to view the scene of them caring for Newt’s magical creatures. I also liked the part at the end where Mr. Scamander was wearing a Hufflepuff scarf, much like the one I crocheted a few months ago!)

That’s it for today, everyone! I hope that your past few weeks have been awesome, too.
