The Art Of The To Do List (Tips + Tricks)

The Art Of The To Do List (Tips + Tricks)

Hello there! 💚 I hope you’re having a great day (: I have been wanting to write this post for months. I don’t know why I didn’t do it before, and I’m also not sure why it has stuck with me for so long. 😂 Regardless, I went ahead and wrote it now so that I could check it off my ‘blog posts to write’ list! (It’s more of a mental list than a paper one, though.)

Funnily enough, this post is about lists!

Staying Hydrated: My 5 Tips

Staying Hydrated: My 5 Tips

Hi there! I hope you’re having a beautiful day. 💕 I got so excited when I first had the idea for this post! For a very long time, I struggled with drinking the right amount of water. I couldn’t bring myself to drink more water than I was thirsty for, which means that I really only had anything to drink at lunch, possibly in the afternoon, and then dinner. That was never enough, but it wasn’t enjoyable to drink since it had no flavor, and I didn’t know there were awesome health benefits if you drink the right amount!

The Quality Of Our Time

The Quality Of Our Time

Hi there! I hope you’re having a fantastic day. ❤ In this post, I will be sharing with you something that has been deeply on my heart lately. It was on a recent car ride home with my mom that a conversation came up that really inspired both of us. By the end of our chat, the way I view something very precious in my life was completely changed. Can you guess what the topic is?

Yes, the title states it clearly: TIME.

The Confidence Of A Child

The Confidence Of A Child

Hey there! Happy Wednesday to you. ❤ Bright and early Monday morning this week, I went and sat down on the living room couch to see Elizabeth. She had just woken up and was already smiling while rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. At one year old, she will be two this June.

I had my phone in my hand, so I decided to show her and my mom a picture I got of Isabella a week or two ago. That made Elizabeth smile even more, so I decided to turn on the selfie cam so she could see her own cute little face.

That is how the featured image of this post came into being.

Overcoming Medical Fears | My Story

Overcoming Medical Fears | My Story

Hi guys! Happy Tuesday to you. ❤ The topic of today’s post is something I’ve never written about before (and this will probably be the last time, as well, haha!), and that is medical fears. I will be talking about how I used to feel as a child, and why I feel so much better about it now.

If I can be an encouragement to you – any readers that have medical fear/s, for most people have at least one! – then that is absolutely wonderful because I hope I can inspire you. I know how hard it is to feel better about something that causes us to be fearful, but I would love for you to hear me out – just take into consideration what I share here.

Thank you in advance for reading! I hope that you enjoy.

5 Simple Ways to Quickly Brighten Your Day

5 Simple Ways to Quickly Brighten Your Day

Hey there! I hope you’re doing well. ❤ In today’s post, I will be sharing a few inspirational tips with you! I know how much it helps me to be reminded of easy ways to get out of an emotional rut, as I find myself in one all too often. That is the inspiration behind this post. ❤

Sometimes, a day just truly doesn’t go well for us, which we can’t do much about. However, there are other days when it’s not the day itself, but how we see it that brings us down! I have noticed, especially over the past few years, how true this fact is in my life. It’s also an eye-opener to how we respond to what’s happening, as well as seeing circumstances as they truly are and not through biased vision. It’s a learning experience, for sure – one that I’m still very much on myself!

Just as much as I hope these tips will inspire you, I hope to inspire myself in return. They are five easy ways to quickly uplift your mood – and hopefully mine, too! Life is one crazy journey, and learning to face the sudden turns and ups and downs is where we will conquer our emotional roller coasters. 🙂

If you have any requests for this inspirational series, please do let me know in the comments below! It is my goal to focus on having my blog be as encouraging as possible, both to reader and author alike. ❤ I hope that you enjoy!

Because this post goes along with the theme of the HARPs challenge I’m participating in, I’m counting it as one of my posts! Go check out this awesome competition here.

5 Simple Ways to
Quickly Brighten Your Day

1. Go do something productive. I know that on days when things really aren’t going the way I’d like, it blesses me to make sure there are at least a few good things that will make me happy about that day! One thing that really gets my positivity gears turning is by performing an easy task I was already needing to do – regardless of how necessary, important, or detailed the thing is. It could be anything from re-organizing the refrigerator, jotting down blog post ideas, or arranging the shirts in your closet by color – it’s totally up to you! If you find that you’re already feeling a bit better after having completed that thing, that’s the important part.

2. Turn on your favorite song. For me, there are few things that boost my mood more than hearing one of my favorite tunes! This could be an epic instrumental piece, a hit pop song, or a worship song that always makes you joyful – it depends on your music taste, and how much you’re willing to jam out! 😉

3. Compliment someone else. I read a post yesterday morning that beautifully reminded me just how uplifting it feels to make someone else smile! (I’ll be sharing that post with you this Saturday, so definitely be looking out for that!) I wouldn’t recommend complimenting others if you’re angry or something, because that could come across as aggressive. lol This applies better for on days when you feel sluggish, maybe it’s even rainy outside – a typical “meh” day. Try it! Giving someone confidence they probably don’t usually get will have a huge impact on them. ❤

4. Go outside. Weather-permitting, that is! There are few things that can dampen (sometimes literally) your mood more than a drizzly morning, or a hot afternoon, or a snowy evening. (Yeah. I heard Michigan’s getting snow. In April. #ThatsTheNorth) You get the picture! If you can comfortably go for a bike ride, a walk with your dog, or just sit out on your front porch – DO IT. There’s something beautifully refreshing about being out in nature.

5. Turn on your favorite movie. Even if you just watched it last week! If it’s your favorite movie, it’s bound to have scenes that bring you great happiness. Personally, I prefer a movie with a great sense of humor, but hey, you do you. If horror films are your cup of tea (although there’s certainly nothing refreshing about fright!), go enjoy your favorite movie. You won’t regret it!

Thank you so much for reading my post today! If I don’t get around to responding to comments until tomorrow, that’s because I’m going to the eye doctor this afternoon, and having my eyes dilated may cause dizziness and light sensitivity. haha

Have a beautiful day!

5 Reasons Why I Loved Reading ‘God Has a Plan for Your Life’

5 Reasons Why I Loved Reading ‘God Has a Plan for Your Life’

Hi there! Happy Tuesday to you. ❤ I hope you’re doing well! Earlier today, I finished reading the first book I’ve completed this month, and I’d really like to tell you guys all about it!

On one of my many browsing adventures on Amazon (haha), I came across some books I haven’t read yet by the pastor and author, Dr. Charles F. Stanley. His teaching has been a huge encouragement to me for years, which is why I ended up buying the book I’m talking about today: God Has a Plan for Your Life. Many of Dr. Stanley’s other books looked really great, as well, but I knew that this one was definitely the one the Lord would use to speak to my heart – and He truly did!

So, allow me to tell you why I ended up loving this book. ❤

1. It is the perfect length. At only 148 pages, I thought at first glance that it would be too short of a read, but I was wrong! It definitely packed a punch, and I’ve walked away from its ten quick chapters feeling beautifully different about my life.

2. Its focus is right where it should be. Everything Dr. Stanley wrote about is full of truth, and the basis of his advice is centered, as always, in the Holy Bible – which is absolutely true! I loved seeing what he had to say about the future of believers, because I long for the security of faith in a future of goodness for me and my family. I deeply struggle with that because of fear and anxiety filling my thoughts when it comes to what the Lord has for me. This book, I can confidently say, calmed my heart immensely. ❤

3. He stressed the importance of taking life one step at a time. When I’m constantly focused on figuring out what is to come, then I have completely thrown away the present! It’s an awful mistake, and one I didn’t realize I was making – until now. I am thankful for Dr. Stanley’s godly wisdom, for I have thought for too long that the best times of my life lie ahead. With that mindset, then where am I right now?

I desire to live beautifully right heretrusting the Lord to lead and guide me, showing me what to do next in His timing.

4. He reminds readers that waiting on the Lord is an essential aspect of our future. We live in a day and age where everyone is able to receive most, if not all, of what they want, in a very short amount of time. Because we’re used to everything being quick, it’s hard (for me especially) to remember just how perfect the Lord’s timing is. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve thought before, If the Lord would just give me an answer to [this question], then I’ll know I’m doing the right thing. The truth is, the Lord doesn’t delay in telling us what we need to know – when the time is right, we will know in our hearts for sure! By putting our trust in Him, this leads me to my final point:

5. I have been reminded that when we trust in the Lord, we are right where we’re supposed to be in His will. I still have so much to learn, but by being open to seeing when I have faulty ways of viewing things in my life, I’m able to take so many steps forward! I hope and pray the same is true for you. There will be many quiet days in all of our lives, when we wonder if where we are is where we are supposed to be … and only through the peace that He gives us will we know that for certain. I now know that even in the most silent of moments of my existence, He is still good, and His plan for me is still very much there.

Thank you for reading this quick review! I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed this book, because I’m still slowly letting everything that it taught me to soak in. I’m truly looking forward to seeing where the Lord is leading me – I know that He will accomplish great things in my future!

Have I convinced YOU to read this book?
