Blogger/Aspiring Missionary: Lydia Potter

Hello everyone! I hope you’re having a beautiful day 🙂 ❤ In this post, I will be sharing a wonderful interview I did with Lydia Potter from In His Service and Loving It! I wanted to know more about her interest in being a missionary in the future, and she also chatted with me about blogging. I hope you enjoy reading it! ❤

My questions are in bold, and Lydia’s responses are in italics.

Blogger/Future Missionary: Lydia Potter

When did you start your blog? I started my blog December 14, 2018.

What are your favorite topics to write blog posts about? I enjoy writing recipes and about food/health.

Which post/s of yours would you recommend to a new reader if they want to get to know you better? I would recommend visiting my “About” page first to learn more about me and then my award posts and life updates will tell you more about me as well.

What first got you interested in mission work? It was at a young age of 7 years old that I first talked about being a missionary when I grew up. I always dreamed of being a missionary to China in the hopes that I could eat my favorite food every day. (I love Chinese food) 😉 On October 31st 2013, I surrendered my life full-time for Jesus Christ to do whatever He called me to do in my future life. Early in 2014, my mom showed my siblings and I a video put together by the Mally family. It was called “Mexico Call.” My heart was so touched and moved by this video. It was then when I realized that God was telling me He wants me to serve in Mexico. Ever since then, I still have the same burden for the people in Mexico.

Where do you want to be a missionary? What work do you want to do there? Like I said in the previous answer, I plan on being a missionary to Mexico. That’s where I feel God wants me to serve Him. I’m willing to serve God in any way He wants me to, but I love working with children. My “soft spot” is around children with special needs as well as the orphans.

Do you have any upcoming plans to further/begin your life as a missionary, or is it something you’re praying over for the future? Definitely something that I am praying over. I would also really appreciate prayers for me in that matter.

Why are you so passionate about being a missionary? It’s what God called me to do, and I want to obey Him in every way.

Are you planning to blog about the mission work you do? That is kind of far out to say right now. My college asked me to stop blogging while in college so it doesn’t distract me from my studies. Whether or not I’ll have my blog when I’m on the mission field is unknown as of now. I would enjoy that though.

Thanks for reading, and thanks again to Lydia for doing this with me! 🙂 Make sure you check out her blog!
