We Are Early: A New Way Of Looking At The Lord’s Timing

A few months ago, I was talking to my mom and a friend of ours, and one of the topics that came up was the Lord’s timing. All three of us agreed that the Lord works in mysterious ways, and that His timing is completely different than our own. In that conversation, I suddenly had a new understanding about this that I know is from the Lord. ❤

There have been a lot of things in my life that the Lord has asked me to wait on His timing for, which is something that all of His children experience throughout their lives. Whenever this has happened to me, I’ve felt very tempted to get up and get going instead of waiting for His directive, because the sooner I do it, get it, whatever, the better … right? I’ll start thinking that the Lord doesn’t realize how important this is to me, and sitting around doesn’t make sense because I’m so close to getting this thing, and it feels pointless to waste time doing nothing about it.

Well, the Lord gave me understanding a few months ago that has already encouraged me more than once.

The Lord is never late. He knows exactly when we should move forward in pursuing the dreams He has given us. Because we can’t see the future, and because we don’t know the best course of action like He does, we feel like His timing is delayed.

However, what’s actually happening is that we are early.

He hasn’t called us to figure it all out – He’s called us to trust and obey Him.

When we become aware of something we want to do, the most desirable choice is to begin right now. But more often than not, He wants us to grow in patience and faith.

There have been so many things that I’ve freaked out about these past few years, feeling like I should have already been doing something to get this, fix this, stop this, but now I’m too late and the damage has already been done! Help, Lord!!! This kind of thinking is a trap. The Lord knows everything that we need before we do!!! That means that when He makes us aware of something, we are to be faithful with the knowledge He has given us. The Lord can use our lives in the state that they’re in for our good and for His glory when we allow Him to be our Guide.

You are where you are right now for a reason. The Lord hasn’t forgotten you. His plans for you are far greater than anything you could dream up for yourself. ❤ I pray that this post will be an encouragement to you today!

Rest assured Maggie, this post is an epitome of profound encouragement. The Lord’s timing is always best bearing in mind, He can see the beginning of a story right from the end of it. This is not a privilege for humans; we can only trust and obey. Wonderful Post.

Praise the Lord Jesus for ministering through this post!!!! This post and the other one about surrendering what we want or think we should do have greatly been an encouragement to me. I love the reminder of we arrive early because there have been so many times God has taught ONE thing…and I’m running ahead with it, but then it’s like He shakes His head with a smile, “I’m not done, kid.” This year there have been moments of me arriving at big pieces of understanding, but the lesson was by far from being over.

His hand is all over this post! 🥰 It’s a blessing to me when I read it back.
The whole “early” concept was revolutionary for me! Over the years, I’ve made my way along, focusing on trusting Him, but any time it was hard for me to wait on His timing, I’d always feel like He was late… not that I was early. That understanding has already helped me so much!

I love this! ❤ We are early! I've never thought of it like that. Makes so much sense. 🙂 "I should have already been doing something to get this, fix this, stop this, but now I’m too late and the damage has already been done! Help, Lord!!!" This describes me too well. XD

This was such an encouragement to me! ❤
