Hi there! I hope you’re having a beautiful day. ❤ In this post, I will be sharing my twenty-fifth Spotlight Saturday interview with you! I hope you enjoy reading it! 🙂 ❤

Spotlight Saturday #25
Hi everyone! Thank you for coming by this Saturday’s Spotlight. Today, I’m excited to introduce to you a lovely book blogger I’ve really enjoyed getting to know! Introducing: Jess from thebookofjess!
Thank you, Maggie, for this opportunity! ❤ I love reading your blog and am very inspired by it, and I am very excited about this interview!
You’re very welcome! Aw thank you 💖 I appreciate that! The first thing I’d like to do is let you introduce yourself to us! Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your blog? 😊
Sure! I started my blog in November 2016, and at the time, I was very unsure of what to post and of whether people will actually read what I wrote! Discouraged by my “school chums” I gave up in about two months. In 2018, I was suddenly not afraid.
I understood that people found ways to express themselves, may it be singing, dancing, or speaking. Mine was writing.
I was still anxious about what I should post and was very insecure with my writing in the first few weeks. As I explored more blogs like mine or of topics I liked, I found out that I was not the only one and people didn’t mind if you made one or two mistakes. And I became more comfortable and at home with blogging. I also had encouragement in the form of comments from other bloggers (Maggie included!). As of today, my blog is one of my “safe places”, where I feel comfortable and myself.
I blog mainly about books (book reviews, thoughts, recommendations, gushing about how much I like a book!). But I occasionally post about my other hobbies, like baking, music, and designing.
Aw I’m so glad you get a lot out of blogging! WordPress is definitely a great place to blog – there are a ton of supportive people who are very encouraging, especially to bloggers who are just starting out. 😊 My next question is: What are three posts of yours that you’d recommend to someone who is new to your blog?
That is so true! ❤️😁
I think reading this post will give anyone a good idea of what a huge bookworm I am!
Same with this one, except this focuses on more positive aspects and has more questions. I think it’s really nice to read a blog of someone whom you know a bit about.
I love baking! In this post, I am sharing all the recipes that I tried, regardless of how they went!
Those all sound like such great posts! I’ve always enjoyed reading about your adventures in baking. 😊 Here’s my next question for you: What’s some advice you’d give to someone who’s just started out blogging?
The advice I would give to someone who has just started out blogging is, don’t be afraid to be yourself. Right from the beginning, don’t be afraid of whether people may like it or it would be up to mark. Everyone makes mistakes. Just correct them. Learn to understand the difference between suggestions and full-on hate! And the most important thing, make sure what you do makes you happy and you have a lot of fun doing it! Best of luck! ❤️
Your advice is beautiful! I certainly hope it will inspire new bloggers. 🙂 My next questions for you are: Do you have any blogging goals (current or future)? If so, what are they?
I hope so too!!
My current blogging goal is to just post at least twice a week as I am swamped with schoolwork!
For the future, I have one goal, which is to be a professional book reviewer. But that’s like a good few years away now!
And also, I wish to never forget the reason I started my blog. As a way to express who I am.
Ooh I love those goals! I think you’ll be able to achieve them 😊💖 Thank you so much for letting me interview you, Jess! I really enjoyed reading your answers. Is there anything else you’d like to say before we go?
I would like to say that I had a great time answering your questions! I can’t wait to see the post! And, once again, thank you for thinking of me!💕💕
