Hey there! I switched yesterday’s and today’s prompts because, once again, I needed a bit more time to come up with a good answer. lol

Day 15 – Something You Are
Looking Forward To

Making my own tie dye shirts!

I’ve been browsing a lot of clothing stores lately, because I’ve felt for a long time like my personal style was just out reach. All the clothes I’ve purchased these past few years that were slightly out of my comfort zone never ended up feeling quite right. I just didn’t feel like myself wearing shirts with decorative sleeves, jewelry that didn’t reflect my personality, shoes that were too dressy for the clothes I’m the most comfortable in.

I thought that I would eventually find myself in these clothes, but in reality, I was trying to be someone I’m not.

The clothes I’m the happiest in are comfortable and pretty. I love graphic tees and simple t-shirts for the warmer months, and I adore sweaters and hoodies in the cooler months. Jeans and sweatpants are the most comfortable pants for me to wear, and jean shorts work in the summertime.

What I’d really like to do right now are, as you saw above, make my own tie dye shirts! I’ll be able to pick the white t-shirts so they all fit me the same way, I can get creative with the colors (I won’t have to worry about them not matching my skin tone!), and I can choose the designs and patterns I like the most. I’m really excited about this and am looking forward to making these for the summer!

  1. I remember tie dyeing a piece of fabric to make a bag for my textiles project in year 7 (age 11/12) it looks pretty cool but it’s actually really hard to get the cool designs! I don’t know if we just soaked them in dye for too long (‘cause we had to leave them at school) or if our string wasn’t tight enough but I wish you luck when you make some! 😜

  2. I love comfy stuff so much! I think you look cute in everything you wear and I’m sure tie dye will be no different. I’ve always loved tie dye – I’d enjoy making a few shirts with you! 🙂
