To ask me to pick a favorite quote can be accurately likened to asking a proud parent who their favorite child is; it can’t be done! (Or, at least, it shouldn’t be done 😂)

I absolutely adore quotes, Bible verses, and sayings – they help me to see life from a positive perspective. When I start feeling discouraged about something, there’s almost always a quote of some sort to assist me in focusing on the good!

I’ve decided on one quote for this post that has deeply inspired me more than once. ❤

Day 9 – Your Favorite Quote

“Don’t despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.” – Zechariah 4:10, paraphrased

I have thought many times that the simple way in which I live means that I’ll never get anywhere in life. I’ve convinced myself that because I don’t have a job yet, I’m still living at home, and I’m not pursuing college, then that means I’m stuck. Trying to make my life look like what society says it should look like is painful, because the Lord doesn’t want my life to resemble the norm.

The Bible verse I shared above instantly gave me peace the first time I read it, as well as every time afterward. I don’t want to live in a state of discontentment just because I can’t see where my life is headed.

Here’s what I’ve realized:

Life isn’t about figuring everything out – it’s about learning to trust the Lord with it all.

I know He is worthy of my trust. It’s my job to leave it all in His hands, having faith that He knows what’s best for my life, and that seasons of waiting serve a beautiful purpose.

So, anytime I start to worry that I’m not doing “enough” with my life (which I realize is a lie), this verse brings me great comfort. I am exceedingly thankful for this reminder from the Lord. 💖 He has great plans for me!
