In this collaboration post, I have teamed up with El from ElatedBooks to bring you some awesome blog post ideas for book bloggers! Below, you will find the first ten ideas, and the other fifteen are on her post. I hope you enjoy!
25 Blog Post Ideas For Book Bloggers
Hey! I’m El, I’m a book blogger but also talk about random stuff like my new plant babies (my adorable new cacti Mike & America 😂) So I guess you could say I’m also kinda a life-style blogger but this post is strictly book blogging! I’ve shared 10 ideas with Maggie but I’ve got 15 more on my blog if you want to check them out!
1. Book review
This is probably the most obvious one! 😂 When you’ve finished a book, blog about what you liked/disliked about it, rate it and/or dissect bits of it (characters, plot, world…)
2. Book/merch haul
This is a super fun and easy post – just talk about new books you got or book merch, and make sure to add pictures to break up all the text (because no one wants to listen to you get excited for too long… kidding!)
3. TBR list (To Be Read)
There are 2 ways to do this one:
- Write up a list of books you plan to read that month/year – this can be mainly for you, so you can plan what to read but it also lets your readers 😉 know what to expect from coming posts or even gives them a chance to read a book mentioned and discuss it with you.
- Just as a general TBR list – pick out some of the books on your TBR list and explain why you want to read them, this is a good way to get suggestions about books, whether it’s someone saying one of the books actually isn’t worth the read or if it’s someone saying that they read some of the books on the list and that you should read [insert book’s name]
4. A Book challenge
I’ve never done a book challenge but they’re normally floating around all the time in the community. Like, at the moment, I’ve heard a lot about the year of the Asian reading challenge, where you try to read as many books by Asian authors. That’s just one example but there are loads of others so keep an eye out or start one yourself!
5. Book competition
I’ve never done this but I think it could be cool to pit 2 or more books against each other and compare them to find…THE ULTIMATE BOOK.
6. Writing posts
Lots of readers love writing too so whether you’re participating in NaNoWriMo and want to give updates or you’re just posting a short (or long, whatever floats your boat) story, it’s a great place to get advice and see reactions to your writing!
7. A collab
Kinda like this one! 😂 Anything really, for example: asking each other questions about books or doing a joint review.
8. Favourite book(s)
Either doing a list of your favourite books, or just going back and re-reading or reviewing your favourites!
9. Character aesthetics
This used to be such a big thing! It’s a little bit more work but I love looking at character aesthetics posts! You’re basically making a mood board for a specific character, or I guess you could also do it for a whole book or world.
10. Book update
This is something that I do monthly, it’s a nice way to round up what you’ve read/are reading without going on for too long, because, especially if you hated a book, you don’t want to dedicate a whole post to it! You can also include books that you want to read before the next month.
