My Health And Fitness Journey: Diet Changes + Fitness Motivation

Hi there! πŸ’• I hope you’re having a beautiful day. 😊 It has been a couple of months since I last wrote about any lifestyle changes I’ve been making, so I’d like to do that today!

In yesterday’s post, I talked about my recent experience at the allergist’s. I found out about what I’m sensitive to, as well as things I’m potentially allergic to. I’ve been wanting to learn more about these things for a while, because I spend most of my days in mild to moderate discomfort, which is due mainly in part to my skin (hello, extreme eczema πŸ‘‹πŸΌ), my sinuses (I sneeze for a living), and my stomach (maybe I have OAS. Do you know what that stands for? Neither do I haha)

Going to an allergist has once again encouraged me to do right by my body. For years, I’ve already seen that I have unique needs, both in what I need to do that others don’t (i.e. take otc Benadryl when exposed to too much spring pollen), as well as not do what others can (i.e. pet cats). I go through ups and downs of fitness and lifestyle motivation, but right now I’m thinking through diet changes, as well as incorporating more fitness into my daily routines.

I am most likely lactose-intolerant. This means that too much milk is not good for me! I literally have ALL the symptoms for this sensitivity, so it’s really not a question. πŸ˜‚ I’m not removing dairy from my diet completely (because of cheese, pretty much), but I will be reducing the amount that I have. Lactose-free milk is an awesome option, and opting for dairy-free dishes over ones that contain it is already helping me so much!

I want to start exercising every day again. This was my goal on my last health and fitness post, and it is my goal once again. I continually begin slacking on this for a huge variety of reasons. I’d love to develop a more stable fitness routine, even on my busiest days, because it feels so good to get physically fit.

I’d love to stretch my neck daily. I’ve suffered from neck stiffness and bad headaches for quite a while now. It is probably due to how I hold my phone and look at it every day, but I’ve also felt the same way on days when I’m not even doing my phone. *sigh* I’m pretty sure this can be fixed by being conscious of how I hold my neck, as well as keeping up with stretching it regularly. ❀

I’m going to begin using a daily moisturizer. I just bought a fragrance-free, all natural one from a vitamin store yesterday. I usually give up on all beauty products because they give me rashes and stinging … but I’m praying this one will work for me and improve the overall health of my skin!

I desire to care for myself without it becoming an obsession. I know that when I begin thinking too much about my next workout or healthy snack, it becomes too much to handle. I don’t want my lifestyle to consume me, because it easily does when I allow it to!

At the moment, my biggest goals are: exercise daily, develop a skincare routine that will help my skin, and alter my diet until I find what makes me feel the best.

Thank you so much for reading! I enjoyed sharing these updates with you. πŸ™‚ Let me know in the comments below:

  1. Ooh those are great goals! There are a lot of natural beauty products, eg. moisturizer, different makeup products, lip balm’s and other stuff. Both Bare Minerals and Natural Minerals are great natural beauty product company’s. They are sort of expensive, but it’s definitely worth it in my experience! πŸ˜€ Hope that is helpful!

  2. I always based my fitness goals around weight lifting but it has made me too bulky in the past. I now focus on yoga and it is amazing. It is relaxing and not as strenuous on the body as many workouts I have tried in the past. Good luck to you and your fitness goals!

  3. Good luck with the lactose reduction! I have tried it so many times and it’s way harder than I thought. But I was able to find some really yummy vegan cheese. OR they do make little pills you can take so that dairy doesn’t upset your stomach too much!

  4. Enjoyed reading about someone on the same journey as me. I just started blogging about my weight loss/getting healthy journey.

I’m also lactose intolerant. Something good to know: hard cheese is naturally lactose free! Since you like cheese, wasn’t sure if you knew that. I’m also loving lactose free products – allows me to eat yogurt and have a cappuccino.
    Good luck on your journey!

  5. I literally laughed out loud when you said that you wouldn’t stop eating dairy because of cheese. I was vegan for 3 years b/c of my lactose intolerance. Then, I had to give up that life…because of the cheese too. πŸ™‚
