Hi guys! I hope you’re having a beautiful day. ❤ I had another post I was planning to write for today, but I was too excited about what my family and I did last weekend to push this post back!
This past Sunday, my family threw me a graduation party!
I was homeschooled my entire childhood. From preschool-age to my senior year, my mom taught me at home, using a huge variety of creative resources. She taught me from a very young age what a beautiful privilege it is to write and read, how awesome it is that libraries exist, and how much fun it is to learn new things! I am forever indebted to her for spending her time to teach me all these things over the years – I don’t know what I’d do without you, Mom! ❤
While I actually finished up with my 12th grade work in late May, we were all preoccupied at the time with house-hunting stuff, so we weren’t able to celebrate my graduation until now. I didn’t mind, since I also wouldn’t have wanted to try and coordinate that when all that was going on!
I loved all the decor she bought! It made it very fun and celebratory – especially the cap-and-gown guy, haha
Elizabeth was taking a nap in the living room at the time of the party, but this adorable munchkin joined us! Her smile always brightens my day.
When my mom was taking pictures, she requested that Samuel and Joshua hug me. I love how the pic turned out!
Samuel liked watching me open the present he got for me. It’s a special version of Jenga where the players have to hold the tower and pass it to the next person – it’s quite an interested concept! (Not the easiest to play, haha)
This was when I unwrapped the big present my mom got me! It’s a six-square bookshelf I just finished putting together yesterday. Once my room’s set up, I’ll share pictures of it!
The other presents I got (which aren’t pictured) were all awesome!
- $50 Chick-Fil-A gift card! (from my dad) I’M SO HAPPY
- money to go bowling with. (from Joshua) We’ll have a lot of fun
- $15 iTunes gift card! (from my mom) I’ll be getting ringtones, games and music with this!
- a beautiful coaster. (from my mom) I’ll feature it in tomorrow’s post!
- the last thing I got (from my mom) is pictured below:
This awesome llama stuffed animal! I adore it, haha! However, it doesn’t have a name yet … let me know in the comments below what you think I should name it!
It means a lot to me that my mom threw this party for me. ❤ While it’s bittersweet that I’m completely done with homeschooling, I know that many more learning adventures are still ahead! I’ll never tire of being creative and learning new things.
Thank you so much for reading! I hope you have a beautiful day!

CONGRATS!
You’re all so cute together – especially Samuel!
Also, if you don’t mind me asking, I’m interested in where you do your tests? Do you have to sit them externally? ♥️

Aww thank you, El!! ❤ Are you talking about standardized testing? Those were sent to us in the mail every three years, and after I completed them and they were sent back, we received my results in the mail. 🙂

Congratulations, Maggie! I’m so thrilled for you! Your mom has given you a great gift not only for graduation but through homeschooling… one that you will truly grow to appreciate more and more. My son has thoroughly appreciated his twelve years of homeschooling as he has journeyed through college. 🙂 And by the way, I LOVE that your mom gave you a bookcase! Love, love books and you will be so glad to have that bookcase long term. And the llama? How perfect since you have a heart for Guatemala!! God bless you greatly as you begin your next journey, Maggie!! ❤ ❤

Aw thank you so much, Lynn! ❤ I definitely agree! 🙂 I'm sure he did. Me, too! I've been needing another one, and I appreciate having a place where I can display my book collection. ❤ I know!! Upon opening that gift, I knew it was perfect for me! Thank you once again, Lynn! I truly appreciate it.

No worries! I don't mind you asking 🙂 I've been doing a lot of thinking these past few years about getting a job and pursuing a higher education, and at the moment, I'm leaving that all in the Lord's hands. What I can foresee happening is getting a seasonal position at a local store this upcoming holiday season, because I still want to be here for my family at home. As for college, I'm looking into taking courses at a community college to learn Spanish and maybe American Sign Language, too!

That’s really wise of you, Maggie. 🙂 I’ll be praying for you as you seek God’s will! Spanish and ASL are really fun languages to learn! (Except when my cousin, who is fluent, just talks in mostly Spanish, and I’m like, “uh…. XD)

❤ Aww thank you so much! I appreciate it! They really are! Haha, I used to be friends with a family whose extended family only spoke Spanish, and so the younger cousins looked so strangely at me and my brother when we spoke English around them, lol!

Ahh congratulations on graduating! I’ve been homeschooled for most of my childhood too, but I’m going into school this September, so I know how it feels to have come to the end of your homeschooling experience… it’s sort of like you’re leaving a phase of your life behind and entering a new one, which can feel a bit daunting but it’s also exciting! 🙂
