Going Biking With Joshua

Hello! I hope you’re having a fantastic day. ❀ It has been a loooong time since I shared a post with pictures from a road trip, which is why I’m excited to have an experience to write about today!

Ever since I finally became more comfortable with driving again, I’ve been going a lot of places with my siblings. While I’d still rather not brave the interstate just yet (metro Atlanta is NO joke!), there are plenty of places we love to go that are off from back roads and state highways!

Today, I’ll be sharing pictures spotlighting the outing Joshua and I went on early last week! We both had a great time – you’ll see why in the pictures below. πŸ™‚

Going Biking With Joshua –
A Sibling Outing

Early last Tuesday morning, Joshua and I started getting ready for the day so that we’d be ready to leave by 9 AM. We packed snacks, got our bikes securely in the van, and we were out of the house right on time!

The drive out to the trails was nearly an hour long, but it was totally worth it. Once we were there, I parked in the shade and Joshua began getting our bikes out.

My dad got me this bike back in the spring, and I absolutely love it! It’s the first bike I’ve ever had with gears (I wasn’t interested in working them when I was younger), and I greatly appreciate having them for trekking hills.

I ended up liking how this shot turned out, even though the focus is poor, haha!

We locked up the van and got our helmets on, then we took a selfie:

Gosh, do we look alike! Immediately after taking this picture, he began laughing over how silly my helmet looks. Oh, well. Safety over beauty!

The trails we went biking on this day were trails Joshua has already been on a few times by himself, so this was my first time accompanying him. Even though it was a June morning, and Georgia is notorious for being sweltering by lunchtime in the summer, we were very comfortable riding down hills and were in the shade most of the time!

He enjoyed showing me different landmarks and scenic areas he knows of.

I ended up riding behind him most of the time, which I didn’t mind since he knew where we were going!

A selfie I took while riding!

This little bridge is definitely my favorite out of all the places we stopped to rest! It rested above a creek, which was absolutely beautiful.

It was around this time that we had to take neighborhood streets instead of staying on the main trail because they were doing road work in different areas. That was alright, since we had phones for navigation and the neighborhoods had some awesome downhill routes!

I deeply appreciated getting to enjoy exercising and being outside before the day’s heat became unbearable. The slight breeze and shaded woods made for an awesome experience!

Also, as a fun side note: I spotted three different chipmunks running across the path at different times on our excursion!

This was the selfie we took when we got back to the van after an hour of riding, haha! I was hot and sweaty and ready to be done, but we had one more thing we had to check out first.

We rode up to the bridge that goes over the highway we took to go to the trails, and that was my first time up there! The view was definitely worth the extra ride.

After this, we went back to the van, packed our bikes away, and went to a shopping center just a few miles from there. I enjoyed browsing Michael’s for home and wall decor, and I was not disappointed! (Didn’t get any pictures, though.) I’ll be featuring some of the things I purchased in an upcoming post.

Once I finished shopping, we went to our favorite pizza place: Stevi B’s! We’ve been going to this exact restaurant location since we were kids, and the pizza has only gotten better.

While it certainly wasn’t the healthiest way to finish up a morning of riding bikes, it was still a hearty celebration of a fun sibling outing!

Thank you so much for reading! I enjoyed getting to tell you about our fun adventure, and I’m looking forward to sharing more very soon!

Happy Tuesday to you!

The photography was gorgeous! I watched an interview of cole sprouse where he talks about landscape photography and how you just know upon entering how cinematic a place is, have you thought of getting into landscape photography? You've got a good eye, from what I can tell, judging by your photos πŸ˜€
