What I’ve Been Loving – May 11th

Hi there! I hope your day is going well. ❤ Having spent the last few days mostly in bed and taking it easy at home, I’ve been wanting to share something more on my blog that was more than a just life update! Being the productive person that I am, where I can’t comfortably go for too long without doing something worthwhile, it is already helping me to compose this post. ❤ There have been different things about my life recently that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed, and it was each and every one of those things that have inspired my post for today. 🙂 I hope you enjoy!

Watching the sunset. We don’t have a very good view of the night sky from our house, but any time we’re out in the evenings, I absolutely love watching the sunset! This is one picture I got recently, when the dimming sky honestly looked like cotton candy.

Horseback riding. I had no idea how much I’d enjoy doing this with my brother on Friday afternoons! We ended up going three weeks in a row, and we had a blast every time. My current profile picture is from the ride we went on last Friday, when we paid for an hour instead of thirty minutes. The horse I’m riding in the picture (right) was Ryker, and while he was the most difficult to ride out of the three I’ve ridden so far, he was still a good boy!

Spending time with Elizabeth. She’s growing up so fast, and I’m really enjoying being with her – whether we’re at a playground or hanging out in the living room. She’s so much fun to photograph. I absolutely love her hair and eyelashes!

Becoming more comfortable taking selfies. While capturing the pictures for my last few posts, I realized that I’m not as camera shy as I have been for quite a long time! It was easier for me to take those pictures than at other times, and I think it has to do with being more confident. ❤

My current lockscreen. I saw an ad on Pinterest for an inspirational lockscreen app, and I’m so happy I bought it! This little baby killdeer has made me smile every time I turned on my phone these last few days.

Overcoming my fear of IVs. I certainly didn’t like getting the one I had on Tuesday, but I was also able to go through with it! Before now, I was terrified of the thought of them, but since I’ve already had one, it will be easier to have them done in the future.

Listening to Unspoken‘s newest EP. My mom has been enjoying the band’s song “Start A Fire” for a few years now (and I love the lyrics, as well!), and when she started listening to their song “Higher” a few weeks ago, I decided to listen to their songs myself, and oh my gosh. I love their music now! I didn’t know what I was missing, haha

Watching Frasier. I knew I would need something to watch while recovering from surgery, and when my mom recommended this show to me, I shortly thereafter fell in love with it! The main characters continually have me laughing, and the storylines are perfect.

Samuel’s ‘get well soon’ gifts. He has felt bad that I had to go through the surgery and then recovery, so he has given me some different little gifts that mean a lot to me. He found this awesome BB-8 eraser last weekend and he gave it to me, so I’ve been displaying it on my desk since then. 🙂

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you have a great weekend. ❤

  1. Aww, lovely post!! I really enjoyed reading it 😀 I love watching sunset too! I used to ride a horse when I was younger and I absolutely loved it! ❤ My mare was called Pandora and she was amazing! I really liked her! Unfortunately, I had some health issues and I had to stop horse-riding… I miss it so much! I'd like to come back to this hobby and meet Pandora again ❤ That's great you're more comfortable taking selfies! Have a nice weekend, Maggie! I can't wait to read your next posts 🙂

    1. Thank you so much, Ann! ❤ Yes, watching the sunset is a lot of fun! 🙂 Aww I’m sure Pandora is a sweet mare! Sorry you haven’t been able to ride in a long time. Hopefully, you will be able to again at some point! 🙂 Thanks Ann! You have a great weekend, too!

  2. Fraisure is so funny, and I love Eddy the dog. (Figures I would remember the name of the dog, but none of the other characters. It’s been a while since I watched it.) Other funny shows I like are M.A.S.H., Jeeves and Wooster, (found it on YouTube, haha,) and Seinfeld.

  3. It truly is the small things that stand out the most you know 🙂 I’m so happy to hear these trinkets of moments are sprinkled daily throughout your life and the blessing of family ties them all together.

I've never ridden a horse, but I'm sure it's a lot of fun! I'm definitely adding it to my bucket list, haha! 🙂

  5. I love this post! You’re still so cheerful even when you’re in pain (at least, I’d assume you were still in pain then), which is so sweet! I’ve never tried horseback riding: I definitely want to someday!

    1. Aww thank you so much! I was so thankful to have had the surgery done with that the mild discomfort didn’t bother me. 🙂 Oh you absolutely must someday! It is an epic experience!
