Little Accomplishments – January 5th, 2018

Hi there guys, and happy Friday!! ❤ We’ve made it to the first weekend of the new year! It has honestly been an amazing first week of 2018, and I’m looking forward to seeing what else this year has in store.

What have you gotten done in the last week or so? I’d love to know about it! In today’s post, I will be covering a bit of what I’ve been up to lately, especially in this past week. I hope that you enjoy!

Let’s celebrate all of life’s joys – no matter how small!

This past week, I …

  • changed my desk setup. (I love finding new ways to make my writing desk a bright and cheery workplace for myself, and the current theme I have going is a beautiful green/blue scheme with lots of inspirational notebooks around! I made the little banner above my laptop myself with scrapbook paper and a bit of twine. And yes, if you were wondering, I’m challenging myself to not complain the first week of this year, haha. So far, so good!)

  • caught up on language learning review. (This is always a joy, especially if I’m in a productive mood! I now know some new words in Spanish [relating to emotions and feelings], and I also learned some more French basics.)
  • strung little lights up in my room again. (I did this in December, and I couldn’t be more happy with how they look! So pretty and peaceful. ❤ )

  • found some awesome books at the library. (This was accomplished yesterday, when my dad dropped be off at a library I don’t usually go to! I found new fiction to read, as well as a few interesting nonfic books, too. I find that if I share what I want to read before I do so, I end up not reading those books, so I’ll talk about them in a later post after I’ve finished them, haha!)
  • continued to eat mindfully and exercise most days. (I’m not at the point quite yet where I can easily resist temptation, if that makes sense, haha, but I am doing much better than I used to. Portion sizes are getting easier to stick to, and I love power-walking now!)
  • posted on my blog every day in the new year (so far). (Haha, this was actually unintentional, and I have no idea if I’ll keep this up, but wouldn’t that be awesome!)

  • met some new bloggers. (I’m always excited to meet new people in the blogging world, and I’ve gotten to talk to a fair amount this past week! That has been a joy, and I can’t wait to get to know you guys more. 🙂 )

Thank you for reading, guys! I hope you have a blessed weekend. ❤

  1. I like the desk set up. 😀 And great job with the banner. 🙂

Nice challenge! And this is the last day! You can do it!

Ah, the language reviews! Aren’t they so fun? I’m on a 51-day streak on Memrise. (And a 43-day streak on Duolingo.) 😀

Have fun reading! 😀 (Speaking of reading, I think I sent you a friend request on Goodreads. 😊)

Great post! ❤ Looks like you have accomplished – and will accomplish – a lot. 😀

As for what I've been up to… not much? Mostly trying to get better. (I've been sick since before Christmas.) And I am MUCH better, but I look at everything I've neglected and cringe. I have a lot to do! XD

    1. Thanks! I really like how it all (especially the cute banner!) turned out. 🙂

Haha yes!! Thank you for the encouragement and reminder!

Yes, I enjoy them! I nearly achieved a 45-day Memrise streak last year, but then I did review too late one evening and it didn’t count. -_- Since then, I’ve stuck to catching up whenever I feel like it, hahah!

      Thank you so much! ❤

I'm so sorry to hear you're sick! I hope you get 100% better soon 🙂 ❤ ❤ Sending hugs! There's always time to catch up on missed tasks, even when it's tempting to get them. Being sick is no fun.

      1. 😀

Wow! 🙂 Aww, haha, that's sad that it did that. Well, that works! XD Lately I've been doing the reviews and such after midnight; partially because being sick messed up my whole sleeping pattern so I've been up late (early?). XD And I got the awards for doing a lesson so late and one for doing it so early too. XD

Thank you! ❤ **hugs back** I'm much better, but my dad who has been ill for over five years caught it and he isn't doing very well.

🙂 That's true! I'll get to other tasks later, but I did start organizing my books again today so there is a chance I'll be blowing up Goodreads as I log them… XD

      2. ❤ Usually sickness brings my bedtime back to where I'm extremely sleepy at like 8PM haha, but I could see what's happened to you being the case, too! Wow I didn't know they gave awards for what time of day you take lessons! XD

You're welcome! Aww I'll keep both of you in my prayers.

I was going through my Goodreads, as well, updating my to-read list; there were so many I wasn't interested in reading anymore, haha!

      3. Oohhh, I see. Haha, what happened in my case was the cold medicine knocked me out. I slept from 2AM until 6PM for two days. XD And after that, I couldn’t sleep at night. XD (I’m writing this at 4:00 AM… XD)

Yeah! I got a star on my Overtime badge for completing a lesson before 8AM, one after 10PM, and one for completing lessons over the weekend. I have three shiny stars on my hourglass badge now. XD

Thank you! ❤ He needs prayers so much right now.

Haha, cool! I'm sure you'll find more books that you want to read to replace those though. 😀

      4. Oh goodness! Medicine can do the strangest of things sometimes, haha XD

Haha that’s so cool! Getting badges in game like that is a lot of fun (:

        You’re very welcome! ❤

Thanks! I sure hope so 🙂

      1. 😀 Thanks! I saw that you did, and you are participating in the reading challenge!

We have several books in common. 😀 I was thrilled to see that you read Cassidy. That was a great one, one of my favorites. 🙂 The next one, Sabrina, was really awesome too. I actually liked Sabrina more than Cassidy.

      2. You’re welcome, and yes! I hope I can read a book a week this year. That would be awesome 🙂

Ooh that’s awesome! I didn’t know you read that 😀 I should check out Sabrina! Thanks!

      3. Sweet! 😀 Have fun! I’d love to be able to do that. I have a feeling I’ll be busy gardening this summer and might not reach a book a week, so I aimed a bit lower. (However, I have been reading a lot lately since I can’t do much else so I might make up for that… XD)

😀 Cool! I hope you enjoy it if you can get a copy!

    1. Thanks, Grace! ❤ Yes, that challenge has really helped me. I may do it again, haha! (If you want the link to it, I could find it for you! No pressure, though, lol) Same here! xx
