Hi guys! I hope that you’re all having a beautiful Saturday. 🙂 ❤ Today, I have a delicious fall treat to share with you! Upon my mom’s suggestion (and when I realized that baking my first apple pie was too daring for this year, lol), I found a wonderful, easy recipe for apple crumble!
You can check out the original recipe here. I halved my batch, as I didn’t feel like cutting and peeling eight apples lol, and it provided a nice dessert for me and my family after dinner one evening!
Simple Apple Crumble
These are the ingredients that I used (all of which we had on hand, which is awesome!):
Once I was done cutting up and peeling the apples, I folded them into a sugary/cinnamony mixture and arranged them in a glass baking dish (see below).
Next, you make the oats mixture, which was easily done, and I spread it evenly on top of the apples.
The next step was to bake it! This was a simple ordeal, and I just took it out when the apples were golden.
Once it had cooled some, I served some into a dish and took some pictures:
Me and my family really enjoyed it! Even baby Elizabeth liked it, which was awesome; I cut up tiny little pieces for her to have, and it was so cute watching her come back for more! I really liked the flavor of the apples, cinnamon, and oats combined, and the only thing I would do differently next time is add a stronger spice flavor. It had a very light flavor (like most apple desserts do), and I’m positive this could be improved upon by adding some more spice.
My Advice: Experiment with cinnamon and other dessert spices!
