Blogging Challenge – Day 27: A Challenge That I Overcame

Blogging Challenge – Day 27: A Challenge That I Overcame

Hi everyone! 🙂 Happy Saturday to all of you. ❤

You should have seen me last night, tapping away on my mom’s laptop as quickly as I could; I hadn’t gotten the posts for today ready yet. I don’t usually work on posts the morning they’re to be posted, except to proofread and tweak things here and there, so I was freaking out a little bit! If you couldn’t already tell, I love being prepared, and having things ready – when it comes to blogging, especially. Thankfully, I got everything done in time and quickly went to bed! Whew!

Anyway, today’s prompt is to be about a challenge that I overcame. Let’s jump right in. xx

You can read about what this challenge is here. And make sure to check out Cheila’s and Angela’s posts for today, too – we’re all doing the challenge together!

A Challenge That I Overcame

I have one very good reason for changing up this prompt, haha: adolescence. I am seventeen years old, and have not yet faced many challenges to overcome – thus, I cannot speak from experience on this matter. However, in an attempt to stick to the THEME of this prompt, I’d like to share with you five different Bible verses that have helped me through hard times and difficult circumstances, because the Lord’s love, as well as the care of my family, are what get me through the adversities in my life. ❤

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” ~ 2 Timothy 1:7 KJV {when I was younger and afraid to go to sleep at night, this verse helped me through so much. ❤ }

“…for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]” ~ Hebrews 13:5 AMPC {whenever I doubt that the Lord cares for me … this verse reminds me of His truth.}

“So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance.” ~ Romans 8:26 AMPC {when I’m struggling to pray, like I often do, this verse reminds me that I’m not alone in my praying.}

“I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.” ~ Psalm 3:5 NIV {this one also has to do with trouble sleeping 🙂 }

“But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.” ~ Proverbs 1:33 KJV {this one has kept me peaceful in times of fright. ❤ }

Thanks for reading! How about you?

What gets YOU through the tough times?

  1. Great verses Maggie! These are all such tributes of God’s love and protection of us. I too look to Him when I am struggling, which of course is daily, whether it be with schedule, emotions, family, the world LOL. But His love, mercy, and protection will always see us through 🙂

  2. I love that you have verses all picked out to help you through trying times 🙂
    Faith is definitely something that gets me through really hard times, as well as having a good support system through friends and family, and sometimes just making that Plan B helps out a lot too 🙂

  3. Love your selection of verses : ) . Clinging to God and raising my hands to Him, especially when I can’t see what will happen in front of me. He shows me faith is an action, it happens DURING hardship, not before.

      1. I just went back to the post to comment again…and the first comment I did is showing up there for me! It has to be a glitch, haha. I’ll comment again anyway

      2. Oh no! You know what, it may be possible, since I checked the list of alerts around the time I got up, I thought I had linked a blog post to another so I delete the comment showing the link (so it’s not repetitive). It may have very well been your comment! I’m so sorry if that was the case!!!

      3. I even checked my emails in my trash for the notifications, and I didn’t see one about you commenting. It may very well be a glitch! If you comment again (feel free to copy and paste what you wrote), let me know.

      4. I’m so sorry, I don’t know why, but I’m not getting any comment, or alerts both on wordpress and in my email. Yeah, I’ve pretty diligent about responding to comments. : /

      5. Aw, thank you for your help! The picture I found afterward. I don’t always know what the story will be when I start writing with the selected words, so I choose pictures afterward. I’m glad you enjoyed it! Thank you : )

  4. Great posts and great verses! Let’s see, a challenge that I overcame…(er, are overcoming) is probably my eating disorder. My behaviors have fully changed, my thoughts….well, I’m still working on those! What gets me through the trying times: faith, prayer, family. friends, and journaling! ❤ ❤
