Hi, guys! I hope you’re having a beautiful Saturday so far. My family and I are off to the library this morning, which I’m so excited about! Today, I have another blogger interview to share with you (it’s a weekly thing now!), so I hope you enjoy!
My words are in italics, and hers are in bold.
Spotlight Saturday #4
Thanks for dropping by this week’s Spotlight Saturday, everyone! Today, I’d like to introduce all of you someone that I recently met here on WordPress. She’s very kind, a great writer, and a fantastic blogger! Please welcome T.R. Noble from Inside Cup / Peeking Beneath The Rock!
Hi everyone! Maggie has been such a blessing to ask me to share the spotlight. I’m honored.
And I’m excited to get to interview you! So, first, I’d like you to tell us about your blogs. You’re the first person I’ve known who regularly runs two different blogs! What do you like to write about on them, and why have you decided to have separate places to share your thoughts?
Thank you for your kind words. Okay, so my first blog I started the end of June, 2016. I had used two other sites for writing blogs in the past, and both crashed a lot. I also used to be more sporadic in writing, and that needed to change. You see, ever since June, 2013 I’ve been working on preparing myself to write a Christian Fantasy series. I bring this up because I knew last year that it would take a while for me to become an author. But I felt the Holy Spirit pushing me to share His word and what He has been teaching me right now. So He inspired me to make a WordPress blog. I decided to call it, “Inside Cup,” focusing on the scripture Jesus used to explain it isn’t about the outside appearance, but the inside.
Inside Cup covers a lot of topics in relation to believers, and what we need to be aware of, and accountable to. Some topics are a little bit prickly, and can be convicting. But I also cover some basic topics for new believers, or people curious about God, and what it means to have faith. Recently, I’ve implemented some shorter pieces, and more personal blogs as well. This includes my past experiences that humbled me, and some of my dreams that were either end of time like, or God spoke to me.
My second blog I started in November, 2016. The reason for starting a separate blog was because Inside Cup was focused more so only on faith, and God. I wanted the posts in Inside Cup to reflect that, and with multiple blogs, I’m able to cover more topics. So my second blog became titled, “Peeking Beneath The Rock.” This blog has some updates about my life, writing prompts, discussing a poem line or a quote, writing topics, and inspirational posts. And I’m still able to talk about God in those posts, especially when the posts reflect on my life. God has done a lot to inspire me with different topics, and on how to reach out to others.
That sounds great. I think it’s cool that you have different blogs that you keep up with! It takes a lot for me to keep up with one blog, so it must take an awesome person like you to be able to run two! Next, I’d like for you to tell us about yourself. What are your hobbies and interests? Introduce yourself to us!
Aw, thank you! It just takes some motivation and routine. Well, I’m a follower of Jesus Christ, and because of that I enjoy talking about Him greatly. I enjoy writing, and reading. I am 27 years old, and will be turning 28. I graduated college in May, 2013. I studied briefly creating writing, switched to Visual Communications Technology (VCT). I considered being a video editor, then I found my calling in my love of psychology. Ever since I was 12, I had been giving advice to people, and I wanted to help others. So I had a major in psychology and I completed my minor in Sociology, but when I was preparing for my wedding, I realized I needed to graduate sooner than what my major would allow. I was two class away from completing my major. But God provided me to switch over to Liberal Studies, and all of the various classes I took throughout the five years I was there fulfilled that major.
I enjoy learning, and I believe we should always keep growing as a person. I make handmade melt and pour soap. I’ve been making my own shampoo bars for two years. Started a shop on Etsy, but currently have it closed because my husband is in the military. We moved from Little Rock, AR last year, to Fort Walton Beach, FL. And next month we will be preparing to move back home to our friends and family in Ohio. We are high school sweet hearts and have been together for almost 12 years, and married for almost 4.
I’ve completed writing three novels, and am starting the first book to my series. I’m an introvert. 🙂 Can you tell?
Haha, not at all! Thank you for telling us more about yourself. Best of luck on your novel! It’s going to be great. 🙂 My next question is: What have been your favorite things about being in the WordPress community? (ex. how the website works for bloggers, getting to meet new people, etc)
I enjoy the fact that everyone has a story to tell. Their own passions. Those that truly want to make a difference stand out. I love the fact that bloggers encourage each other. Meeting people, such as yourself, has been an immense blessing. It’s taught me to try to get out of my comfort zone, and fight against negative thoughts of no one liking me. The truth is that people are very welcoming.
I love meeting new bloggers, too. Most of the people I’ve met have been immensely welcoming, which I’m so thankful for! Next, I’d like to know what your top three favorite posts are that you’ve written. Why do you like them so much?
Ohh man … that’s a good question. I would have to say starting with Inside Cup, the first blog post that is my favorite would have to be, “Secret Of The Love Chapter.” I love this post because God showed me how to make the love chapter more applicable to my life. Switch the word “love” out for Jesus, and He is every definition of love. Then because we are to be Christ like, switch out the word Jesus for “I”. We are to be the definition of love, and when we achieve such love, we cannot fail. And that statement really touched me.
My second blog post, also from Inside Cup, is “Meeting God | Dream Experience 2.” It may sound confusing to those who don’t know God, why I would take delight in the post covering some of my darkest days when I was in a depression. Being afraid at night at the things I can’t see. I was so vulnerable during that time, and I was so ashamed of myself. But as I talk about in the post, there was a night I dreamt of this giant of a man. I never saw anything from his shoulders up. He was so huge, and He wore this old green robe with patterns on it. And I remember when I was went to sleep that night how depleted and scared I felt. And all He spoke to me, in the dream, was “Gratify Me.” And when He did He touched me and every negative feeling I had fled from my body, and I was in complete peace. And it’s important I share that story with others. And it’s one of the reasons why I am writing my series. Because it’s something God gave me when I was a little kid, and I want to give it back to Him for His glory, to gratify Him, if anything. ❤
My last blog post is from Peeking Beneath The Rock, and it would be Memory Lane | Driving With Dad. I’ve already planned on more memory pieces to write, but that post captured some fond memories I have had with my dad. And though all of the memories weren’t written down in that post, they all come to mind when I reread it.
Oh, those all sound like great posts. I’m definitely looking forward to reading them myself 🙂 To finish up this interview, I’d like to know: What are two reasons you’d love it if my readers came by and checked out your blogs today?
If anyone would stop by, that would be awesome. 🙂 But one reason to check out my blogs would be the variety in content. In you are into God, scripture, and learning as a believer, Inside Cup would hit the spot. If you’re into writing prompts, inspiration, and literature then Peeking Beneath The Rock would be the second spot.
A second reason to check out my blogs is if you enjoy thought provoking pieces. Both blogs try to stir thought provoking discussion in a positive manner. Sometimes the material is light, and sometimes the posts are a little heavy. But all is meant to encourage, and add a little bit more to everyone’s day. Thank you all for listening 🙂 Thank you Maggie for being so kind!!!
You’re very welcome! Is there anything else you’d like to say to my readers before we go? 🙂
I would have to say no matter what situation you’re going through, always keep growing and challenging yourself to become better. We shed more light by reaching out to others, than keeping it to ourselves.
Keep shining everyone. 🙂 Oh, and thank you again to Maggie for asking to interview me. Please check out her blog, if this is your first time here. Learn about her calling. If you like cooking, she has recipes on hand. Support her, and check out her mom’s blog as well. There’s lot of inspiration here. Have a great day, and good night.
Thank you all so much for reading! It would make both of us very happy if you could visit her blogs for yourself. She inspires me so much with her writing, and I love seeing all the new post ideas she’s come up with!
Have an awesome Saturday, everyone!!
