Blogging Challenge – Day 12: Places I Have Visited

I absolutely love traveling. Exploring new places is exciting, and returning to favorite places brings me the same amount of joy. I love downtown areas, outdoor walking paths, outlet malls, and unique restaurants and cafΓ©s. There’s really no limit to the places I love to be.

I’ve been in the eastern United States my whole life, traveling as far south as Warner Robins, GA, and as far north as Michigan (I can’t remember what city; I was too young). Sometimes, I feel down about not having ever seen the sea, or never getting to experience a snowfall that was more than an inch or two … but I trust in the Lord’s plan for my life. I will see the ocean, and a great big snowfall, in His time, not mine. πŸ™‚ For now, I am thankful for what I have seen, even though it’s not what I dream of. ❀

You can read about what this challenge is here. And make sure to check out Cheila’s and Angela’s posts for today, too – we’re all doing the challenge together!

Places I Have Visited

Chattanooga, Tennessee. It’s a beautiful city – I’ve been a handful of times, and I have loved every single visit! Mainly, I’ve been to the aquarium, as my family and I had a membership there a few years ago, but I also went to the children’s museum (for my younger siblings lol), the Chattanooga Zoo, and an awesome diner called Cheeburger, Cheeburger. (The first time we went there, I thought they spelled cheeseburger’ wrong. Haha!) All four of those places were a couple miles from each other, which was pretty cool.

Birmingham, Alabama. My family and I went last fall, and it was actually my first (and only time so far) going to Alabama! I had at blast at the Birmingham Zoo; I enjoyed their Disney/DC Comics set up almost as much as the animals. You’ll understand when you see the collages below!

Atlanta, Georgia. I live pretty close to there (haha!), so it’s no surprise that I’ve been to this city quite a few times in my life … but I still get excited every time we go over this specific hill on I-75 when suddenly, you can see full skyline of my state’s capital. ❀ I love Atlanta. Over the years, I’ve been to the zoo, aquarium, two different Trader Joe’s, IKEA, two different malls, and both Fernbanks. Next up on my list … the Fox Theater and the Shakespeare Tavern!!

Springfield, Ohio. It was a few years back to visit an old friend. I went to the mall up there, as well as a really cool children’s museum. I really enjoyed exploring that city, as it was the only time I’ve been to Ohio!

That’s it for today! How about you?

Where are some awesome places that YOU have been?

  1. Even though I lived in Ohio, I never went to Springfield. I’ve gone to Vermilion, Ohio. Houston, Texas. Somewhere in Georgia, not sure where. Destin, Florida. Somewhere in either North of South Carolina, I have that bad of a memory, but it was like 8 years ago. Georgia is a really beautiful place! And that Birmingham zoo looks so cool!

    1. Oh, I forgot to mention that on the road trip to come here we stopped in Illinois, Mississippi, Alabama, Indiana, and New Mexico. And even though I can say I visited all if those places, I definetly will never miss the long 29 hour journey!

      1. Wow, that’s a long journey! But it sounds like it was fun πŸ™‚ On our trip to Ohio from Georgia, we ate our lunches in Tennessee, stayed at a hotel for one night in London, Kentucky, and ate our lunches that day in Dayton, Ohio. Haha. It was quite an experience!

    2. That’s so cool! The Birmingham Zoo was pretty great – I’d love to go back someday! I had fun going to Springfield; they had lots of cool restaurants and stores, and there were some hidden treasures throughout the town that I wouldn’t have know about except that my friend who lived there knew where they were. πŸ™‚

  2. I love Atlanta as well! I visited a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Haven’t visited much beyond the south (except for Atlanta and Savannah), but would definitely love to some day soon. I love New York City, Washington DC (I’m biased because I live here haha), and Boston in particular. Some other awesome places I’ve been and loved include London, Vienna (Austria), Prague, and Venice πŸ™‚

  3. This is great! I’m sure one day you’ll go on grand adventures and visit so many places! After all, Guatemala will be coming soon (ish) right? ;D
Also, as someone who lives on a literal island, it always surprises me when some people say that they haven’t seen the sea. We’re all lucky to live where we are, and I hope one day you get to run around the beach with your family πŸ˜€

  4. So fun! I need to travel more, especially in the US! I lived in Barcelona when I studied abroad and have gone to Mexico to visit family. In the US I’ve basically been to Orlando once for Disney world and Houston and Cleveland for work. That’s it!

    1. Oh, Barcelona!! That sounds epic 😍 What was it like there? I really want to go to Florida one day simply to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I keep telling my mom that once I get a job and save up enough money, I’m going there with her! πŸ˜‚

      1. It was amazing! Barcelona was definitely the perfect city for me. It was small and had so many different places to explore. There was so much art and culture as well and that’s important for me.
I also want to go to the Wizarding World although I was told that the California one was better. I’d like to go to both to compare! πŸ˜‚

      2. That’s awesome. I love art and culture, too! I don’t know if I’ll ever make it to out to the one in California, but let me know how it is if you go! πŸ˜‚

  5. I was born and raised in Ohio, so I’ve been to a number of places, especially different Amish counties (Berlin is my favorite, great food, and an awesome fairy store with figurines). Bowling Green, as you know, was my college home. When I was engaged to my husband, and visited him in AR, before I moved, we traveled to Memphis TN zoo. Girl, you got to check their zoo. You’re going to love it! I visited Texas twice. Once when he graduated from basic training, visited San Antonio. The second time was for a church conference. I had made friends in Little Rock, and their home church is in Texas. So they invited me to go with them, and meet their family. It was a really joyous time full of revival. Then I’ve lived in Fort Walton Beach, FL where I am now. I’ve visited Destin as well. My husband and I have visited Navarre beach, and I didn’t see any beach/sea till I was 27, so you’re not alone.

    1. That’s so cool! I’ll definitely look up the Memphis Zoo; I loooove going to new zoos! Haha I honestly feel pretty left out about never having seen the ocean – as if most people have! I have to remember that many many people live inland πŸ˜‚
