Little Accomplishments – May 5th, 2017

What have you accomplished this week?

Β‘Feliz Cinco de Mayoooo! And welcome back to this week’s Little Accomplishments.

My family and I have a full day ahead; there are errands to run, schoolwork to do, and we’ll also be going to the library, which is the part that I’m most excited about!

The rest of my week was full of schoolwork, reading for pleasure, catching up on Spanish word memorization (I always am!), and baking tasty new treats. I hope that your week was just as happy as mine!

Let’s celebrate all of life’s joys – no matter how small!

This past week, I…

  • re-memorized everything I’ve learned so far on Memrise. (With all of the hectic chaos [hehe] that’s been going on around here lately, I really fell behind on what I’m learning in Spanish. But guess what! I got all caught up this past week, successfully re-memorizing every word that I hadn’t reviewed in a while. Can I just say that it’s nice to see that the app shows that I have zero words to review now?? Haha! I’m going to attempt to keep up with learning every word they want me to memorize this upcoming week. I’ll tell you how that goes next Friday.)
  • completed a few adult coloring pages. (Does that make me an adult now??! Nah, I guess not.)

  • unsubscribed from unnecessary email subscriptions. (I assure you, this is an accomplishment.)

  • cleaned out my email. (This goes along with the thing I mentioned above.)
  • worked on photos on my phone and the PC. (Tedious, boring work. But definitely necessary!)
  • checked for broken links on my blog. (There were three, but they were on a few peoples’ comments on old posts of mine. A broken link checker indexes your site for free to make sure that you’re not directing any of your readers to non-existent pages. Whether the page has been deleted, or the link was put in the post incorrectly, the website will find it for you, then give you the link to the page/s so you can fix it! Click here to use the one I did.)

  • successfully grew three plants on Plant Nanny! (My most recent addition to my little virtual plant garden was a bamboo plant named Akamai! It means “intelligent” in Hawaiian. I thought it went along nicely with what I’ve been naming my Plant Nanny plants recently! If you use the app, what kind of plant are you growing right now? What’s its name?)

Comment what YOU’VE done this week down below – last Saturday through today!

  1. Mainly this week for me has been about helping out in the garden and making some necessary changes to chicken and rabbit housing. But then I agreed to something I don’t actually want to do and regret agreeing to. (Oops.) Anyone else find it practically impossible to say no to someone, even when you’re busy?

  2. Yesterday I found a great piece of furniture for organizing, at a yard sale. I got a deal. I bought it and I’ve been organizing stuff in our little bedroom. I’m not finished, but it looks so much better and everything is in it’s place. I’m taking a break right now. Eating ice cream. You have a good blog. πŸ™‚

  3. I love adult coloring pages, but mine arent nearly as good as yours! I go crazy if there is more than like 8 emails in my inbox, and 50% of the time there are no emails in it! I did have a bamboo plant once on Plant Nanny, but i stopped going on there for a few days. It died and i didnt feel like spending more seeds to get another. Sad.

    1. Aw thanks, Eva! I liked getting all creative with the tiny designs πŸ™‚ Ugh, I can’t stand a cluttered email inbox, either!! I have to clean mine out every week. My first plant on Plant Nanny died, and then the new one I got last night NEARLY died because…goodness, I don’t really know. I revived it, but now I’m scared that it’s going to still die anyway haha!

  4. Those “adult” drawings look incredible!!! Wow, you got a lot of stuff done. Clearing out email can be a pain. I solved that problem YEARS ago. I don’t give out my email :):):) Thanks for sharing about the broken links thing, I had no idea there even was such a thing. How does that happen?? I did the same old stuff, lol… you know me. I had great treadmill workouts. I pushed a bit and each workout, I do 3 miles, at an 6 to 8 incline and -3 incline and I alternate each .25 miles. This week I did 8 incline for a mile, 10 incline for a mile and then did the decline. Went to town TWICE this week, doing errands. Oh, and I was blessed to get hubby something he wanted that is rare and hard to find. I walk into a place we love and there it sat! They didn’t want to part with it but I prayed the whole time they were telling me why they didn’t want to part with it(it’s rare, we can’t get anymore, etc) When all was said and done, it’s his πŸ™‚ He is going to be so surprised. Cleared a wheel barrel full of these vines that had weaved all through some of my bushes. Those suckers just appeared because they were not there last week. I’m pretty sure I found their root so praying they won’t come back. Split my pinky open in the process, OUCH! πŸ™‚ I packed all my stuff for our vacation into a new bag hubby got me . I wasn’t sure if it would all fit but it did. That’s about it other than clean, blog, repeat πŸ™‚

    1. Aw thanks, Margaret! I loved getting to color them. Congrats on all you got done this week! Especially the part about what you found for your husband πŸ™‚ I’m always so excited to find the perfect gift for one of my family!

  5. Wow! What an impressive list you have there!

This week I have finished the first draft of my novel (all 98,000 words), edited and scheduled out my blog posts for the next 3 weeks, created social media posts for said blog posts, started writing and designing 2 new ebooks, cleaned out my car (which was a bear of a project in and of itself), and got my merchandize ready for an event tomorrow.

Wow! I honestly didn’t think I had done all that much this week until I wrote it out like this!

    1. Thanks, Sarah! That’s why I love writing these posts; they help me to see how much I accomplish in just a week! Congrats on all that you got done – especially the finished first draft!! That is so exciting!

  6. Those are not little accomplishments, you got a lot done!! I think these posts might be my favorite from you!! You know I love a good list, don’t you? Those adult coloring books are looking so good, you’re talented. I never pick the right colors lol If I gave you a list of what I’ve been doing this would be a long, boring comment, as I have a list for each day πŸ™‚

    1. Haha thanks, Cheila! Yes, I’m a list lover, too! Thank you. I enjoyed coloring them! There was a color wheel in the front of the book, and it taught me a lot about what colors go together and which don’t, lol. I hope your day’s been going well!

  7. Well done you! You got a lot done this week. Those colouring book pages are looking good! Also, thanks for sharing that site that checks for broken links. I just used it, and I have a few dead links lying around that I had no idea about!
As for my own week, I have successfully managed to do a workout 5 days in a row. Which is a huge accomplishment for me, cause I haven’t really done that since January XD

    1. Thanks, Angela! Yesss I love how they turned out 😍 You’re very welcome! I wouldn’t have ever thought to include a broken link checker in my monthly blog maintenance, but it is so helpful. Oh, congrats on the workout!! I’ve recently been doing yoga for the first time in forever, which is pretty cool, too!

    1. Yeah, which is pretty awesome, as I haven’t been doing much for well over a month (up until now), haha! You’re welcome; I hope it helps you. It definitely helped me! Same to you, Diana πŸ™‚ x

    1. Hahaha, I always feel like that after looking at someone else’s completed to do list!! πŸ˜‚ You should!! It is so helpful, yet not something most people would think of to include in blog maintenance. πŸ™‚
