Two Blog Awards!

Two Blog Awards!

May the Fourth be with all of you!!! *waves a lightsaber around in your face* I’m sorry, I had to say it.

This post is going to be all about two blog awards it’s about time I accepted. Haha!

First off, my mom nominated me for the Sunshine Blogger Award a while back – thanks again for it!! ❀ I’ll answer her questions right now.

The Sunshine Blogger Award

My Answers to Her Questions:

1. What are three activities that bring you happiness? Reading the Bible, playing Wii games, and watching YouTube videos.
2. When you are feeling down, what kinds of things do you do to try and lift your spirits? Spend time with my family; they always make me feel better. πŸ™‚ I also enjoy listening to motivating music (usually praise/worship songs) as they never fail to uplift me. Any of Leeland’s songs
3. What are some of your favorite funny movies (comedies)? Clue, Mad Money, Saving Grace, Waking Ned Devine … most of my favorite movies are comedies!
4. Who is your favorite comedian, and what do you like about him/her? It’s a complete tie between Tim Hawkins and Jim Gaffigan. They make the absolute funnies jokes, and no matter how many times I watch their shows, my face always hurts from laughing so hard and constantly smiling.
5. Does money buy happiness? Well, when it comes to food and books, I would say yes! But money cannot buy true, lasting happiness; that only comes from knowing the Lord.
6. Were your parents happy when you were growing up? Why do you think they were/were not? Mine were for the most part, but we were tight on money for a while, and I know how hard that was on them.
7. What makes you laugh out loud? Silly facial expressions and sound effects, good jokes, killer roasts, funny animals, certain memes … I love to laugh!!
8. Does the weather affect your mood? Well, when it’s hot in the summer, I feel miserable (when I have to be out in it, anyway; I live in Georgia, where the summers are huuuuumid!). But aside from the Georgia heat, I wouldn’t say that the weather affects my mood.
9. What in your life are you currently looking forward to? Expanding my knowledge of Spanish in preparation for my future in Guatemala! ❀ I’ll be looking forward to that for a long time to come.

1. What is your all-time favorite TV show and why?
2. Do you collect anything?
3. What are few songs that you’ve been loving to listen to lately?

5. Why did you name your blog what you did?
6. Have you ever met any famous people? How and where did you meet them?

Recently, my friend Angela over at lifeofangela nominated me for the Mystery Blogger Award! Thanks for thinking of me, girl! xx

The Mystery Blogger Award

3 Things About Myself:

  1. I absolutely love ASL (American Sign Language); I watched my mom teach it to my baby brother when I was about four years old, and I’ve loved it ever since. If you asked me how to sign something, I could probably show you how!
  2. I hoard notebooks … kind of. Most of them are 3/4 of the way full, or finished, but some only have a few pages written on, and fewer still have never been touched because I’m waiting for inspiration to hit me!
  3. I’ve only set foot in a school twice in my entire life. #homeschoolerforeverrrrr!

My Answers to Angela’s 5 Questions:

  • What is the strangest thing you’ve ever eaten? I’m a finicky/picky eater, so it probably wasn’t anything too strange, hahaha! I honestly can’t remember a thing out of the ordinary. lol
  • What board game do you hate the most? Apples to Apples. I know that’s technically a card game, but I don’t hate any board games that I can think of, lol. The only reason I don’t like Apples to Apples is because I have unhappy memories associated with it.
  • If you had to eat one thing from McDonald’s, every meal for a week straight, what would you choose? Their McChicken; it’s one of the only three things I love to order from there (but I rarely go), so I’d choose that. HAH!
  • If you could kill off any character from a current television show, who would it be? I’d almost say George Warleggan (Poldark fans, you’ll understand), but I have a strange affection for him, so forget that. Um … the thing is, I don’t watch enough current television!
  • If you had to read an entire encyclopedia, which letter would you choose? “R.” *shrugs* That was the first one that popped into my head.

My Best or Favorite Posts:

Questions for My Nominees:

1. What is something you used to despise, but actually quite like now?
2. When was the last time you laughed really hard?
3. What’s the best book that you read recently? Why did you enjoy it?
4. Name 5 of your favorite movies.
5. What are you the most thankful for?

My Nominees:

Jaylee Morgan || Grace || Maha || Margaret || Pamela || Christ, Crafts, & Cuisine

Note for the nominees: To accept this award, tell us three things about yourself, answer my questions, and share three of your favorite posts! Then pass it on to other bloggers by giving them some new questions to answer.

Happy Thursday, y’all!

  1. Georgia to Guatemala…that has a nice ring to it. Whenever I hear Guatemala, this book called The Adventures of Holly Hobby comes back to me from my childhood and my strange fascination with it. Congratulations btw and lovely answers.

  2. My Mom watches Poldark. Is there an older one and a more recent one? If there is, she watches the new one. I occasionally watch it with her because I love all the beautiful horses, especially Poldark’s horse. Mom always says Poldark is handsome, and I’m like, whatever, his horse his GORGEOUS. The horse is the more handsome one in my opinion. XD

    1. Hahaha! The horses are pretty great, aren’t they? πŸ™‚ Yes, there is an older version, but the one everyone’s talking about is the epic remake. Aidan Turner is still pretty handsome, though!! πŸ˜‚

  3. Thank you for the nominations!!! I can’t wait to answer your question! Oooo that reminds me that I really want to learn ASL. The local community college has classes but they don’t work with my schedule. Maybe someday!

    1. You’re very welcome! ❀ I was just thinking today about looking at the classes my local community college offers to see what Spanish language courses they have. ASL would be another one to look into! I think it would be so epic to be fluent in Spanish and ASL. πŸ˜„

      1. I agree! Haha, I don’t think being biased is a bad thing. I wish I had had more experience with it growing up; I’ve only been learning it these past couple of years! I’m learning pretty quickly, though.

  4. Awww…Thanks so much for the nominations😁 I will have to get on these for sure! I have one that I have yet to do😟
Oh my goodness…I am SO with you for Tim Hawkins!!! I can’t even look at him without laughing! No matter how much I rewatch his acts, it’s as if it’s the first time🀣🀣🀣

    1. You’re very welcome! You deserve it. ❀ Take all the time you need 😊 Ahaha yeah, Tim Hawkins is the best!!! I agree; I laugh at all of his jokes, the ones I've just heard AND the ones I know by heart! πŸ˜‚

  5. Thank you for the nominations Maggie πŸ™‚ I’ve already done and posted it πŸ™‚ I don’t get to McDonalds much either but my favourite thing is the McRib (no pickles) which they only have in October 😦 The rest of the time I get a Big Mac πŸ™‚ The weather doesn’t bother me too much either but rain makes me sleepy, does that count as a mood? Thank again for the nominations πŸ™‚

    1. You’re very welcome! I enjoyed reading your post. There are very few things I like to order from McDonalds. That’s sad that your favorite food from there is seasonal!! I hate when that happens. When something I like to order at a place is limited time only, I buy waaaaay too much of it in a short amount of time! Lol! Rain definitely makes me feel quite dreary; I much prefer sunshine weather πŸ™‚

      1. Haha I enjoy ordering from restaurants blissfully unaware of what the ingredients are. I could find out what’s in them but that takes away the joy of eating it, haha!! I don’t order bad stuff often enough for it to really matter πŸ˜‰

  6. Yay! I loved reading your answers, and congratulations on the awards! Also, thanks for nominating me! I’ve already done the Sunshine Blogger award, so I may not post about it.
I will say though, that my blogging schedule is both careful planning and on a whim. It’s all over the place XD

    1. Thanks Angela! I’m glad you liked it. πŸ™‚ Oh okay, that’s completely fine. Posting about the same awards gets repetitive, haha! I’m the same way with blogging; it all depends on how inspired I am, as well as my mood.

  7. I wouldn’t be too sad to see George go!! I was sad when Francis died, that was a sad moment. I’m not very fond of Elizabeth at the moment but I don’t want her to die either lol Congratulations on your Awards, beautiful girl!! xx

      1. No, I only watched the first episode, but that’s okay; I was content to stop watching after season one. πŸ™‚ I kind of know what happens in season two, but not very well haha

  8. Mad Money! That’s the only movie I liked Katie Holmes in because she does nothing for me emotional wise. I love your response to money buying happiness. Congrats on the awards!

    1. Haha, I feel the same way! I haven’t seen any other movies with her in them, nor do I ever intend on it. Thank you, I thought that was honestly the truth, at least for me πŸ™‚ Thanks so much!

      Liked by 1 person

      1. I’ve unintentionally watched her in a good bit of movies over the years including the very boring ‘Batman Begins’ and ‘Teaching Mrs. Tingle’. Most of the times, I have no idea what she is doing in the film. You’re most welcome! πŸ™‚

  9. Loved learning more about you! πŸ™‚

“What is the strangest thing you’ve ever eaten?” LOL, I love that you eat normal stuff; I could probably make most people gag by answering that question… XD I get so many comments of, “You’re not eating that together.” “Seriously?” “Don’t complain of a stomachache later.” πŸ˜‚ Green onions dipped in honey was probably up on that list.

**Audible GASP** Me? Thank you so much for the nomination! β™₯

    1. Thanks, Grace! Hahaha, I’ve done strange combinations like that, too. My mom gets so grossed out when I dip different crackers/chips in ketchup, whether intentionally or accidentally, then proceed to eat them lol! You’re very welcome! You deserve it πŸ˜„β€οΈ
