Cinnamon Roll Cake

Cinnamon Roll Cake

Hello everyone! ❀ Welcome back to your weekly dose of my tasty treats. Today, I have something absolutely delicious to share with you. It’s a traditional sweet roll with a fun twist:

I made a cinnamon roll cake!!!

Up until now, Pinterest has supplied all of my recipes, but I found today’s treat from one of the sweetest bloggers I know. She also happens to have the most beautiful blog that I’ve ever seen! Her name is Hannah, and her website is called Woven Beautiful. ❀

She and my mom have been blogging friends for years, so even though Hannah and I have only been acquainted for a few months now, I feel like I already know her so well. πŸ™‚

Hannah writes about the beauty in her life, from what the Lord is teaching her, to her sweet family, to the hobbies she’s interested in – and like I mentioned a moment ago, the mood of her blog is peaceful and absolutely beautiful – it’s no wonder to me that she has that word in the name of her site!

If you’re interested in checking out her blog for yourself, you can do that by clicking here. I know that she would love it if you came by for a visit! xx

When I saw that she’d shared a recipe for a cinnamon roll cake that she makes, I knew that I had to make one myself. The only thing I did differently was add more vanilla extract into the cake, as I didn’t have any almond extract on hand, and I used margarine in the cake part instead of butter.

These are the ingredients I used to make the cake:

And this is what I needed to make the cinnamon-sugar topping:

Unfortunately, I didn’t take pictures of the cinnamon topping or the three-ingredient glaze, but it’s because there wasn’t much to them. Haha!

First, I mixed the wet ingredients together (my favorite bowl wasn’t clean, so I had to use a different one, lol!):

Then I combined the dry ingredients in a small, separate bowl:

Then I combined the two together, put the batter in a greased glass baking dish, made the topping and spread it on top, then baked it. Once it was done, I made the glaze and evenly drizzled it over the whole thing, then I served it to my family after dinner!

It really reminds me of a coffee cake my mom used to make all the time. That dessert had a cake base, cinnamon topping, and sugary drizzle, as well. It was one of my favorite desserts for a while! Because of that similarity, I enjoyed this cinnamon roll cake even more.

I hope that you’re all having a joyful Thursday! ❀

    1. Thanks Pamela! It was soooo good. Yeah this dessert seriously has me in the mood for normal cinnamon rolls, too! πŸ˜‚ We have a package of refrigerated cinnamon rolls from Trader Joe’s, and they’re absolutely amazing. I’m kinda craving them now haha

    1. Thanks, Margaret! ❀ Haha in a way, I'm glad my desserts make you hungry, because that means they look good … but I also don't want to make you suffer. πŸ˜‰ LOL, agreed! But classic cinnamon rolls are pretty darn awesome, as well. My day's been good; just getting some stuff done around the house and working on blog posts. How's your day going? xx

      1. That’s wonderful! How funny; we’re going to work on our grass today, too! We’re going to use the weedwacker (however that’s spelled lol) and get pinecones and rocks out of the yard so we can mow probably tomorrow.

      2. Oh dear! Stay safe. My family and I had to crowd into my mom’s closet recently because a tornado touched down near us and a siren was going off. Thankfully, it didn’t reach our neighborhood. Alright, I’ll talk to you later! Hugs! xxx

      3. Wow thats got to be nerve-racking. I am glad y’all were all safe. I’m done with the yard but for some reason I am not feeling well (??) But it will pass. I’m all packed and ready for my drive tomorrow πŸ™‚

      4. Yeah, it was. And we had to go to a doctor’s appointment later that afternoon!! We were grateful that the storm moved away right around the time we needed to leave, lol. Aw I’m sorry you’re not feeling well. Pollen has gotten all of us kind of messed up-feeling recently – but I haven’t been sneezing as much as I usually do, haha! That’s good. I’m praying for a safe trip. xx

      5. Haha oh no!! How strange. Both of my brothers have been having minor pollen-related issues the past week or two, and they’re never sensitive to it; I’m always the one having problems in the spring. I don’t know what’s in the air this year hahaha

  2. I was just in the cafe contemplating over the cinnamon rolls and cheese puffs… I ended up leaving with the puffs. Now I come here and see this yummy recipe and I’m suddenly in the mood for that neglected cinnamon roll now.

  3. This looks delicious! I am working on a cinnamon apple babka recipe that I should have up on my blog in a couple days-a few more steps, but if you are into bread baking….maybe?
