Little Accomplishments – March 24th, 2017

What have you accomplished this week?

Welcome back to another Little Accomplishments post!

Friday is honestly my favorite day now because I get to compile all of the things I’m happy about that happened this previous week! It inspires and motivates me immensely, and it’s honestly a great thing to look forward to each weekend. I also love getting to see what all of you have accomplished, because that’s exciting, as well! πŸ™‚

Let’s celebrate all of life’s joys – no matter how small!

This past week, I…

  • got new sunglasses. (I realize how boring that sounds lol, but I’ve been needing to find a nice pair for months! So I’m pretty excited!)
  • reached a one-month streak on Memrise. (I also re-memorized a ton of words yesterday! I’ve learned so much Spanish this year alone. I’m pretty proud of myself hehe)
  • made my own language learning flashcards. (I was feeling very inspired after a conversation I had with Eccentric Muse the other day! Here’s this week’s picture proof. I just cut blank index cards in half, then wrote phrases I need practice on in English on one side, and Spanish on the other. I enjoyed making them, and I’m having even more fun when my mom and brother quiz me using them! I like working on my accent.)
  • crocheted a mini Harry Potter scarf. (Yup! I’ve known how to crochet since I was 8, and what’s cool about this particular project is that I completely free-styled with it; I didn’t follow any kind of pattern! You’re probably insanely curious now, so you can see how it looks below.)

Isn’t it cute?? I can’t decide if the model, or the scarf itself, is cuter!

(My mom thinks the bear should be my blog’s mascot. Do you agree?)

I hope that everyone’s had an awesome start to their weekend! And for those of us in the south, let’s hope and pray that the warm weather sticks around this time!!

Comment what YOU’VE done this week down below – last Saturday through today!

I was going gangbusters at the beginning of the week but I had a migraine for a couple of days that stopped me. But I did bake on Monday and made a meatless meal (also on Monday). Today I’m going to bake an Orange Condensed Milk Cake for tomorrow’s family dinner. And now that I told you I’m doing it there’s no backing out!

I too have been inspired after out conversation and decided to go the flashcards route! πŸ™‚ Both the scarf and the bear are cute. Bear would make a cute mascot, but it’s up to you. Wishing you a blessed weekend! πŸ™‚

That’s awesome! If you decide to buy some or make some of your own, let me know how it goes. πŸ™‚ Aw, thank you!! I’ll have to feature him on different posts (recipes, day in the life-type posts, etc) in the future. I hope you have a blessed weekend, as well!

wow you’ve been a busy little bee this week!! Getting new glasses is exciting, not boring πŸ™‚ The bear and the scarf are adorable. I know you are proud of the spanish as you should be, that is amazing. I’m praying for the weather to stay this way as well. This 70 degrees one day and then a flash freeze the next is exhausting lol. Keep up the good work Maggie. I’d tell you what I did this week but it was mostly frustrating πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ today included lol

Yes, I’m soooo happy that I have sunglasses again because I haven’t for a long time! The arms tend to squeeze my head, or the huge lenses make me look like a bug, hahahah. Learning a new language definitely takes a lot of work and commitment, but for me, it’s all worth it – especially when it comes to Guatemala! I’m sorry this past week was frustrating for you – I’m praying that this upcoming week will be better. πŸ™‚

I love this posts so much!! I get to know what you’ve been up to and what is currently making you happy. Getting new sunglasses is not boring at all (BTW I saw you wearing them on your mom’s blog and you look gorgeous!). It seems like you’re improving a lot in your Spanish, which is amazing since you’re learning by yourself. Not many people have the motivation to learn a language by themselves (trust me, language teacher here) and give up after a while! The scarf is lovely and the cute teddy bear should totally be your new blog mascot! xo

Aw, thank you so much, Chelia! ❀ And I love writing these posts, as they help me to feel accomplished every week, whatever I end up getting done! Learning a new language can definitely be tiresome, but the resources I’m using currently make it so much fun. I’ll definitely include the teddy bear in upcoming posts! Thank you so much for your sweet comment!

What a great week you had! As for me, I finished reading the Four Horsemen and wrote its review, I bought three more novels, which reviews will be published in April, I managed to get my first few followers and I closed a deal for my family’s business.
I didn’t bake though… πŸ˜• Maybe next weekend!

Have a great week Maggie!

P.S.: The HP scarf would look even cuter if made with the Ravenclaw colors!

I’m looking forward to all of those book reviews!! Sorry you didn’t get to bake last week; maybe this week πŸ™‚ Yes, Ravenclaw colors would be so cute!! I only chose Hufflepuff because that’s the house I was sorted into, lol. I hope you have a great week, as well! ❀

I taught myself how to crochet, but as I am a left hander, who tried to learn a right hander’s way, everyone is like “Do you knit?” I can do single and double stitch for the most part. One Christmas I learned how to make simple hats with double stitch. But I can’t really do anything aside from that. I have made four blankets, and currently in the process of a fifth.

I’ve never made hats before! That’s really cool. I made the little scarf, like you saw, as well as a few small purses, purse accessories (bags, chapstick huggies – yup lol), and I also managed to make a few small flowers.

The pattern I followed was fairly easy (which is great, as I can’t really follow patterns lol), but it did make tiny little flowers, haha. That’s cool. Where did you go to college?
